I saw "maschinen" which is machine, and when paired with "zeichen", according to google becomes "drawing machine." I don't know if that means a machine that actually draws things or a metal or plastic extrusion machine.

It could also be interpreted as "drafting machine". It fastened to a drafting table and took the place of a T-square and triangles.

The 1000 volt is its fuse value if you use that in the panel instead of a fuse.
Thanks for input , Genrally in the older tools it’s Insulation resistance between the handle and shaft where you apply A 1000 volt test voltage and if it gives a infinite reading it gets the 1000 v stamp . ( Insulation resistance tester referred too as a Megger)
today its different with vde lab testing and liability issues .
But you most likely knew that . Regards A

How old do you think it is ? Pre check point Charlie ? The Germans were way ahead with plastics if you saw that pair of Ahrems pliers that date at least to 1938 they had high quality plastic /tenite or resin pre WW2 . Thanks for your valid thoughts.Regards A

It’s funny though that those megger tested tools were highly trusted and performed well on live work. ( long before VDE ratings) and we survived. Regards A
