Help please - having a hard time finding a company to build workshop

Good afternoon. I am having a hard time finding a metal structure company to work with me on our project. I have called/emailed about a half dozen companies, and can hardly get anyone to return a phone call/email anymore. I don't know if there's someone out there that has a good contact or referral, but I am in Simi Valley, CA and am having a heck of a time. Grading etc. is already being done (the ADU project is already moving forward - stick built, we have a contractor for that). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What do you want people to help with??????? The market is crazy right now, every one is having issue finding contractors of any flavor. They are booking a year plus out.

You're not getting much of a response. And I can't speak to CA, but here *everyone* is busy and they are literally picking and choosing jobs.

It looks like you've architected that barn independently? If so, what might help is having it architected by a steel building company who can get "close" to that, then asking them for recommendations for contractors. You'll need to have the building "kit" figured out first... If you've already got it setup as a "kit" - please update me.

Ya, it's crazy out there. Off topic, but I called 3 local yard/lawn maintenance services ~ 3 months ago and none of them picked up the phone. No 'please leave your name & number' no 'we're out at the moment, please call back'. No nothing.

Good luck finding anyone to work on new or remodel construction projects right now. We are having a roof replaced on a 5 unit townhome building now after waiting 4 months and the roofing company is short help to do the job. Owner told me he can't find anyone that will do the work. It is 100 degrees F "feels like" temperature in Chicago today and there are five men and a woman working on the roof in this heat. It's a tough job so maybe others desire work in an office.

Thanks for the replies. Luckily I have a contractor for the ADU (next door to the workshop), but shoot man its hard to get a hold of anyone. I can be patient, but dang, I cant imagine folks not even picking up the phone!

Instead of calling or emailing, try walking in to the contractor's office. If you're serious, then show them. A phone/email is a blind reach in the dark, no face to speak to.

In ny it’s impossible to get a plumber or electrician. We got a new fork lift at work and it required a new charger. The electrical needed to be updated. Small job ended up being 1200 dollars and I called 5 local electricians and struck out. My normal guy was on a bug job and after letting him know I’m jammed up as the new lift could not be charged he ended up coming to my business at 6am witn 2 guys and knocked it out as a favor before going to his other job. He has more work lined up than he can handle for the foreseeable future.

had a water heater go bad and had the Home Depot installer install it after looking all over for a plumber. Way overpaid but it’s done. $ 850 bucks to install a 10 gallon rheem heater plus the $ 300 the unit cost.
