Garage door with Jack Shaft opener question

I just built a new garage and want to go with jack shaft openers for the doors. My ceiling is scissor trusses so it's not flat. Since the wall and ceiling isn't a 90*, what are you guys using for the tracks to go up the scissor truss? I want some of the door to follow the roof line so I'm not wasting the floor space when the door is open.

I have the same design. The garage door installer measured the pitch of the inside of the building (drywall ceiling) then orderd matching track curves instead of the normal 90 degree units. My door opens and follows the ceiling not the floor. I have Lift master 8500’s which have had issues with phantom opening. Not sure of there is another residential shaft opener on the market, if there is one I would look into it.

Inside pitch of sloped portion is 8/12. Garage door guy said he ordered tracks for 7/12 “just to be safe.“ Doors are 9’ tall.

Genie is finally offering a residential jackshaft opener as well now.

I read a lot of reviews on the 8500's and the aforementioned phantom opening - so I was waiting on another option. Haven't purchased the 6070 yet, but I'm glad its now available.

That'd exactly what I'm looking to do. I read something about needing certain springs though? I'm not sure what that's about though

Everybody needs "certain" springs. But when you run the door up at an angle, you need special drums with a varying diameter. on a normal door, when the door is fully open, the weight of the door is zero. When the door is half open, the weight of the door is half. So the math is stupid simple on a normal door.

Liftmaster has solved the Phantom openings with a new controller. Mine was out of warranty, but Liftmaster replaced the controller free. Delivery was delayed due to COVID, but otherwise everything is OK. Their customer service is excellent.

They fixed that issue a long time ago. There’s at least 2 threads in here on the subject. I just had two 8500s installed and they work great. Did high lift rails on one door.

Pretty sure the problem went on for about 3 years before Liftmaster finally started making good in 2020.

I wouldn't call that a long time ago.
Heck, I'm not even sure it's been long enough to be convinced that the issue is completely solved.
