200kw Generac link for a wiring diagram?

Model number from data plate, 1585-5, s/n 815196, I looked on Generacs website to no avail. It's a 120/208 only generator.

I'm looking the wiring(wire numbers) for now for the excitor to voltage regulator and voltage regulator wiring.

I'd like to flash the fields to verify the generator end is OK. Then figure out why I have no AC output.

A link for a diagram would make life easier...

Yeah, new ones use an 8.7 liter diesel engine.

One thing abut Generac is they stay constant with wiring numbers. They even bragged about it in service school how the wire numbers were the same from a 8KW home standby to the huge industrial units. So if you find any wire number information for any Generac it should apply to yours. I used to have a wire number cheat sheet but I haven't worked on a Generac in 12 years, pretty sure it got tossed.

LOL, huge is something like the old 3516 powered Cats at the water plant I used to work at or the 2MW Onan at Butner Federal pen in Butner, NC.

I've emailed Generac to no avail, still waiting for a reply.

It looks like the voltage regulator is inside the rear just to the end of the end bell on the left. The end bell has the rotating diodes at the end, but it looks like excitation wires go in from the other end of the excitor rotor stator opposite the way an Onan or most others.

I really do not want to start taking things apart to chase wires.

Hopefully someone will feel sorry for me and see if they have a diagram or link to the info I need. I tried thier website for support info and cannot get anything to come up that'll help.

You have the load for a generator that large, assuming it's diesel? Reason I mention it can wet stack when under light loads.

I'm pretty well versed in loads and such. I just need to get the requested info. This smart phone isn't getting it...and having a dead laptop does help along with PITA internet service and trying to figure out issues with getting Dropbox doesn't help.

I wonder what happened? I'll go out and check the diode when it's cooled off weather permitting and if Linda doesn't have more work for me...I'm the slave labor on the farm. Rain forecast soon though...

Have you tried actually calling them ? I have found that most of those large companies are terrible at returning e-mails. Might be because they get thousands of them. My first choice is the actual phone.

Obviously a little late to the party. But I was going to tell you some of the larger generac units had regular issues with the rotating diodes and to check them. This was in the late 90’s units.
