Made a fleece paint glove. Repainted the stairs, except for the hand rail.

Painting with a glove is almost cheating because it makes little mess and is quick. You are working smarter.

Of course, when the wife asks later, I'll tell her it took half the day and that I had to disassemble most of the machine.

This also sounds like a wasted opportunity to purchase a much needed tool for this repair, even if you didn't use it.

Swapped out a 10K ball for a 25K ball.





After it was tight, welded a small bead along the nut/thread to prevent it from loosening up. Did the same to the ball mount for the dump trailer. Added a little bit of grease to the ball as well.

Dang it...

Did an amature mistake and used the wrong cleaner to clean off the dust on the motorcycle fender before starting the candy. Stripped some of the base coat 'right' off the fender. Was too depressed to continue. Tonight I'll re-spray the base after doing some more sanding to smooth things out.

good news is ... I had a few other imperfections in the base coat that I can fix in the process too. They were tiny and in places that would be covered by the seat, but still...

I installed the slave cylinder and rear brake shoes on one side of the Blazer this morning. The guy in the youtube video installs them in minutes. It took me a lot lot longer then that. Hopefully the other side will go faster but I need to remove the slave cylinder and paint the inner face first. That is tomorrow's fun job. I found that my 1/2 inch drive, 3/8 Whitworth socket was the ideal size for pressing in the cylinder retaining clip

Finally finished cutting the last 6 inches of my sugar cane knife blade re-profile project using Lenox bimet 32 TPI jigsaw blades (wore out 2 of them). These Lenox blades did a better job of getting through the hardened carbon steel blade than my no-brand name blades (which is no surprise).

I made some good progress on the Blazer today. The rear wheel cylinder came out very easily and I was able to get 3 coats of POR on the backplate. I will get a top coat on the backside of the backplate to protect it from UV in about 3 hours. I fitted a new grease seal to the front steering knuckle and got it all assembled. I was going to torque the big 36 mm axle nut to 184 ft pounds but I need a deeper wall 36 mm socket or a 3/4 to 1/2 inch adapter as my 1/2 inch drive 36 mm six point socket fits OK. My big torque wrench is a 3/4 inch drive. I got the axle nut pretty tight with a 1/2 inch breaker bar for now.

Cleaned a bit and got rid of a toolbox. Gave my father my 65" CM workstation. Been a great box but in reality I outgrew it before I even bought it. I still have a heck of a mess to clean up from our kitchen remodel and make room for the cabinet delivery next week.

If I'm feeling motivated later I still have some work to help my son's Escape.

Yep, stay busy in your garage, etc. Get out and do stuff. Breakfast and lunch restaurants can be pretty soothing. That said, spouses, and significant others, are sorta like a bus in that another one will always cross your path in due time. You need not ask me I know this.

Tractor wouldn't start, looks like some idiot left the key on. No names mentioned but me, myself and I were heavily involved. My battery jump pack quit so I couldn't use it to jump the tractor. The location made it impossible to get a vehicle close enough to jump it. A new jump pack was supposed to be here today from Amazon. An Amazon truck went by the house about 1:30 today but didn't stop. I checked the Amazon site and tracking said the truck was a block away and the jump pack would be delivered between 3 and 4 pm. That didn't happen and now the location is the same and delivery expected at 10 pm. I'm betting something has happened to the truck and I don't get it until tomorrow. That slowed things down. I decided to check the voltage on the battery and my very expensive Fluke multimeter has taken a dump. Contacted Fluke and they want me to send it in. I packaged it up and will drop at UPS tomorrow. I decided to quit before something else decides to stop working.

I hear you, brother - same thing happened to me - fell for her softball coach and ended up getting married while I was on a Lake Shasta houseboat trip she was supposed to be on! I was devastated.
6 months later, was set up on a blind date by cousins with their best friends' daughter. 37 years, 2 kids and 3 grandkids later, she's still the love of my life. Don't know that life could have turned out better, but it took a few months of feeling just like you do! In retrospect, fiancé's leaving was the best think that ever happened to me! I'm confident you'll look back on this the same way sometime in the future.

Worked lol. Put a transmission in a Subaru. Installed a wheel back on a Jeep and sent it to the body shop. One of the newer guys who is actually pretty decent made a mistake and left it loose. I’m just glad the car decided to drop it before it left the parking lot it could of been deadly on the highway. It is one of those Renegades that has the lug studs and he didn’t have them lined up right I guess or just forgot to tighten them. And other than that we just hung out and joked with the service advisors and managers and stuff.

Inspected the glue joint on the picture frame that is at the top of Mrs Nadogail’s list. Found it was good and made up the other 3. Sunday morning it will be ready for inspection.

Had to weld the mount for my HOT tar crack fill machine i use for my job . Tiny weld they put in didnt hold . I layed in a pair of good FAT welds .

All squared up and holding the control panel nice again .

Got rid of a bunch of **** from a storage unit, and hoping today to finish emptying it, today is bulk trash free drop-off day at the county trash transfer station. Also got a new starter on my bought-new GMC p/u crew cab, the original one made it to 140k mi. I had the dealer do it, I have too-much going on to do it myself. I recently had to have the AC serviced, and that was < the starter replacement. Those are the first repairs besides ordinary consumables like tires, a battery, and brakes; it works out to 72 cents/day in repairs, so I can't be too-upset about that.

I used a set of Harbor Freight wheel dollies, not-even the more-expensive ones, and man, did they make it easy to move a 3600 lb. vehicle on a clean, flat concrete floor! Very-impressed.

I found yesterdays glue job to be Satisfactory, so ordered a pack of Glazers Push Points to reassemble the picture for Mrs Nadogail. Amazon said they will be here tomorrow.

Installed a new speedometer/odometer and park brake warning light in dads truck today. Unfortunately the only speedometer available anymore is digital which sticks out like a sore thumb in this 21 year old truck. But at least he has a working one now again. The second picture is the light assembly for the parking brake pretty simple to do just squeeze and disconnect from the other end. And afterwards we duck taped the dash back together. All the screw holes broke out many years ago.
