Thanks, guys.

The screwdriver is a PEXTO SOLBAR (Solid Bar), which I am very excited about.

Have to say, though, the blue gizmo has me most intrigued out of this whole lot. It's not chintzy. It's actually very well made. That hard blue composite is covering a single forged piece. The teeth in the sockets are sharp and unmarked. All 12 point except the 1/4", which is hex. And it's heavy. I'm hoping 3bay or someone else has seen one. If it wasn't for the metric markings on one side (imperial on the other), the deep blue has me wondering if it's Herbrand.

went to the return of the called off auction last Saturday. A lot of the things I was going to bid on were pulled and many more had been given a reserve. I still managed a few things. The best were a Stihl FS 130 string trimmer and a Milwaukee Hacksall. The string trimmer was so dirty it was hard to tell what model it was and when the helper pulled the rope, it acted like it was locked. I had already checked it and knew that was not the case. This particular model is a two stroke with cam and valve train. The compression release is dependent on the valve adjustment. It cleaned up well and once the valves were adjusted it runs like new. I stole it for $5. The hacksall had such a bad cord they were afraid to plug it in and it had been painted with black house paint. New cord and some cleaning and it is in great condition. $15.
I bought a Stihl pole saw from a guy for $50. Guy said it was locked up and didn't know why. I took it home, adjusted the compression release, and it fired right up. Those are the best kind of scores!

Too many miles for too little found. Such is life though, especially on a Thursday. Here is what I found though:
51536188792_bc977f2b4c_b.jpg
On the left are the things I found at the second Restore I was at today. I am looking for a sink for the upstairs bath that my wife will be OK with, which is taking a surprisingly long time, but anyway, I found a pair of Duro/Indestro sockets, a Bonney socket, and a ceramic light fixture, as I am planning to replace my shop lights with these. The middle is from a TOO estate sale I spotted when coming back from a different ES. Lectrolite and Vlcheck wrenches, Duro breaker bar, Duro/Indestro sockets, one WF socket, a Craftsman labeled drive plug, and some razor knife blades. There was also a Stanley sweetheart zig-zag ruler, but it must still be in my truck. I will get pics of it later. The last stop yielded two light bulbs and a small Stanley tape measure.

Tomorrow should be better.

Yeah, I have a slightly older version of those Thorsens. Nice sockets with a great logo.

That era of Thorsen tools were pretty good imo. The 1st socket set I ever bought was a (made in Oakland CA) 1/2" dr Thorsen set in in '74 or so. Still have them all except for the original ratchet that failed after nearly a decade of pro use (replaced it with another Thor ratchet of the same round head style).

Just came from a barn sale. Grabbed these 5 Dormant cabinets, 2 Dormant shelves, a Snap-On creeper, Snap On distributor wrench, a Plumb hammer, Snap On F70A ratchet, an odd ball Wilton C clamp No. 4408-the screw is covered by a C channel), and a Ford T59P-77370-B unknown tool. Also the Future unknown tool. All for $225 plus I had to help the old man move a cast iron pedestal. I know the Dormant stuff is worth it alone. Definitely flipping those as I already have a stack. Any info appreciated on the other stuff.

Even when it's not sleeping or hibernating! :)

Fantastic acquisition! I have one. Terrific cabinets. Heavy, solid, well made. Drawers never stick. Pulls never come loose. Etc. I use mine for orphan sockets by brand.

The guard on the C-clamp screw is for welding. It prevents welding spatter from getting on the screw and damaging the threads.

Nice picks!

Post photos of the Ford tool. We might be able to identify it.

Awesome thank you. Might be a keeper. It's not letting me post the pics from my phone. I'll ha e to try on the computer later.
NYBODYMAN - What is the box on top of the solo Dorman chest on the floor?
A Bacharach Fyrite Test Kit. I think it's for furnaces. The metal box was cool and the guy had no clue what it was so he said to take it.

I hit one decent sale, one sale that looked better on paper, two zero sales, and an antique sale that was actually pretty good.

51539921701_a36e295162_c.jpg
The decent sale was in a motor home park, surprisingly. I don't usually go to those, but I like the couple who were running it as they do decent deals, don't clean things up too much, and will sell anything, and by that, I mean any kind of sale imaginable. At this one, I found the Cresent ratchet, SR sockets, BE Craftsman socket, Bog hex drive socket, Challenger bit driver, vintage electrical staples, a socket box which is a dead ringer for an NB pre-war, and a Hercules driver. All of that, including this:
51540146473_ae070ed5e5_c.jpg
Set me back 10 bucks.

The "looked better on paper" sale was aways out in the country, and it had a huge shop and house, but all the tools were low grade and the prices were high grade. This company also prices out every single item and sorts and cleans as they go. I prefer to find things as the owner left them. In any case, here is what I found:
51539153587_44be19ded3_c.jpg
Local bicycle guide, Goodell Pratt push drill, 1/2 drive plug, floor protectors, and a KAL ratchet. The zig-zag ruler, extension cord, and hex key pouch (to be used to sort my reamers) were from yesterday but were left in my truck. $7 for today's purchases.

The antique sale was an estate sales company family members, or somesuch thing, getting rid of all the weird bits they had picked up over the years sale
51540498563_230e259b9a_c.jpg
a Savon crate panel, three cast-iron trivets, and this table:
51541190655_7935ce49b8_c.jpg
All of that for $40.

It's that old GJ magic/synchronicity! But there's always 3 of a kind. So somebody else is going to show up with a Dorman chest soon. It's just a question of who. :)

As I just posted in the cabinets thread... I'm too far from OH or NY, so I want to be #3!!!

There were only two local sales listed in Craigslist today so we checked out both of them. The first one was the best. After checking out the tools outside on tables, the seller let us into his workshop and we grabbed a few more rusty treasures. Here are the tools from that sale.A8AF3C76-B3C7-425E-9284-C12BB7C08EAE.jpeg17054D77-F34D-4B91-9A72-C4A7BFEAA6D9.jpeg
31D8DB34-CDCE-432C-9F00-82858E25D956.jpegI couldn’t ID the item in the next picture.AA00726B-5FFE-4551-9234-7FFAA9D7CD3F.jpeg
The second sale was one we’ve hit quite a few times over the season but everything was 75% off so I was much less selective than I would have been otherwise.

Looks like a single trammel point from this angle. I may have it’s brother.

mine is an Eclipse, labeled between the Rod and the clamp, on the clamp at the top

Not exactly a yard sale find. A friend was looking for a dining room table. SWMBO found one on FB Marketplace and the adventure began. The table seller has a business cleaning out storage buildings. Lot of interesting things to look at and just as I was leaving I spied this sign.

. What is it’s function?
Put two of them on a straight stick, make a giant compass or divider. I have some with pencils on one side, this one can swap a wooden pencil in. Other sets have two metal points, can scratch a line, in wood, or Dykem on metal, or directly on metal.

What are the 4 brass things? Hinges, or curtain hangers? Love Sprayway glass cleaner, so much better than Windex at removing haze inside windshield s.

Some recent finds and sightings....

Craftsman work light and tool rack....the guy only wanted 5 bucks for it but I left it for the next guy.
DeWalt lighted sign I bought.
Garbage can full of S-K made NOS Craftsman professional wrenches, can't make a complete se, ..mostly SAE or oddball sizes metrics like 9 and 11mm's that will take him forever to sell at flea markets...told me it came from S-K factory years back prior to Ideal.
Hard to find Williams B-53 long handled 3/8ths drive, older S-K 45170 with thin selector knob with great chrome but the selector/gear hole is kinda off sized. I usually don't see the selectors so nicely chromed and the gear side is great chrome too.
Discontinued S-K #48320 1/2 drive flex heads 10mm. 10 mm sockets from KMart Auto Japan, Thorsen and Powr Kraft.
Unused Lectrolite wrenches, American Meter Company wrench, I've never seen before and Plomb 3/8ths breaker bar.

Stopped by a sale that looked promising but most of the good stuff is already gone. This safe is what drew me in on the estate sales.net ad. Ended up buying some fuses for a buddy who is an electrician and collects old stuff

Oak, if you can make it back to the sale, I would happily pay shipping and a finders fee for the Craftsman rack/light.
