Hi All - somewhat embarrassing post here. Just finished building a new shop and installed a DL9 OH 2-post with asymmetric arms. Mainly lifting sports cars. Had a baseplate before and couldnt wait for the new one with all my new ceiling height. Anyway, I cant figure out any position to properly lift my Porsche’s. No matter what direction the car is or where I try and move it, the arms wont line up right. Anyone have this issue and any solutions? I researched a ton before buying a lift and the DL9 seemed highly recommended. However, unless they have another arm kit or something, this seems crazy… TIA

Did your lift by chance come with the ALI guide that has the lifting points to make sure you're positioning the arms correctly? I took a couple pics of mine showing Porsche. Im not sure what Porsche you own, but hopefully this will help. If you dont have one of these guides you can order one directly from them.....good luck!1 2.jpeg2.jpeg0 2.jpeg

Yes, it did come with that. I see it shows the jack point locations (which I already knew) but I dont see anything in the book that shows how the car should be positioned or the arms positioned to actually line up with the jack points. Im going to spend some more time on it today, and will take some pictures along the way and report back.

OK my bad - and man you aren't kidding. I scoured the internet and there is literally NOTHING about vehicle placement for that lift. I have a Rotary SPOA10 and it at least has the measurements for placing the wheel spotting dish......good luck - I'll keep looking too!

Well I finally got the car into a spot it worked but there is 0 tolerance! And now the damn lift won’t lower so the car is stuck on it. F! Guess I won’t be trying the other cars until the come take a look Monday.

The release mechanism on the DL9 is identical to my Rotary SPOA10. If the cable isn't adjust correctly, it won't release the pawls to allow it to lower. If you raise the lift about an inch to take the car off those and pull the plastic cover off of the column closest to the wall you can see if it is releasing the pawl there. If not, a fairly easy adjustment. Hopefully it's something simple like that. And BTW beautiful shop and cars too!

Bingo. I had checked the release mechanism yesterday and thought it was working fine. Went back this morning and with my wife’s help, was able to confirm it was in fact the release mechanism. Adjusted it and all seems good to go now!

Shop is coming along. We just moved in so its a total mess but cant wait to get it organized and more functional!

Without low profile arms, it might help with a low to the ground sports car, to drive the car onto a set of short wood ramps to get a few more inches to place the arms and raise up the lifting pads some more.
