Question about Cornwell COO

I was looking at this set on ebay

It seems like a pretty good price if it is USA made. Tried to look on cornwell's site but it didn't list COO. Thoughts?

I bought that set and it is made in Taiwan. Its funny because the only place that says where it is made is on the wrapping its shipped in. Nothing is stated on the tools themselves or the case they come in.

That seems to be the norm. The only place that is generally good about putting COO on their tools (when the COO is someplace other than USA) is harbor freight.

I suspect those hex driver sockets are supplied to Cornwell by Vim Tools of Durston Manufacturing Co.

All the Cornwell Bit sets are imported and they fly off my truck all day long. The quality is good and they hold up. And most all bit sets and inserts out there are imported. Some guys might make the socket that holds the bit but in the end the bit is imported. The Cornwell sets are priced right. They will take some abuse for sure.

I have had no good luck with modern cornwell tools. Good sk tools work better for me.

I will vouch for the cornwell bit sets, they are made by VIM as I was told by my dealer. I own the biggest one they make that I bought on sale for 200 bucks, and it has been so handy and durable I never even considered Snap Ons "sale" price of 700 bucks, I have used both, I prefer the Cornwells.
The only time I broke one was when I put a T50 on my 1/2 impact to remove a flywheel. It broke in 2, didnt strip or strip the bolt.
For the price they are miles ahead of anything you get from craftsman, their bit sockets ****, and for about half the price of SO, with what is in my case better service (great Cornwell dealer), I had to get them. He exchanged my broken one right away.
I am a Heavy Duty Diesel mechanic, work on a lot of Deutz and European equipment engines (Mercedes Benz) that 90% of engine fasteners are either Torx or Hex, I abuse the **** out of mine ( cheater pipes galore) and they are just awesome, have paid for themselves over and over again.

Could you be a little more specific than that? At least mention the TYPE of tool. A part number would be even better with a short explanation.

I think I'm going to go with these, no question they are USA made. Not to mention they are about half the price of any of the other premium brands.
