Wright 4427 1/2" ratchet

Anybody have one of these ratchets? The handle on this thing is HUGE!. Already had the knurled grip 4425, 4426 and 4430 ratchets, was expecting the same smaller size when I ordered from Epstein. Will get some pictures later when I get home.

I bought one a few years ago and I get what you are saying. The handle is too big and heavy for a ratchet that short. The thick handle and shaft profile works great on their breaker bars, but not for the 4427.

4427 on the left. Way too big compared to other wright ratchets. I emailed wright to see if all their new 1/2 ratchets are this big. More than likely going to return it. Bummed it's not like the others.

I would never do it, but, you could turn the knurled part down on a lathe....and then slide a Tootsie Roll cover onto it.

It'd be lighter, and you'd have bragging rights as the only one in your shop with such a "special order" ratchet.

For anyone with larger hands I'm sure the handle is just fine. Their screwdrivers have large handles too... they're awesome.

I've got a 4427 "oil only" and not sure if it's as big as the one in the picture but kind of heavy now that I think about it--don't see any problem with it unless I had to hike a couple miles with it----yes USA

HJE seems to be having trouble getting in 4435WR flex handle. Maybe they (Wright) have to order more metal to make their extra size handles.

The Wright 4435 came today (12/14/21) and it indeed has a thicker knurled grip handle than my other bars and than the Wright ratchet-also the beam of the long part of it a tiny bit thicker than my other(half inch drive) breaker bars

4427 is a beast... I have a 4433 I may put the gear shifter on a 4427 !
