I was helping neighbor family clean out basement and found this. Kinda cool. Just wire brushed a bit, no lube yet.

Lacking an obvious, better place to ask about this Wrench, found, as always by my Rust-Honey Wife.

W.F. Estes 1915 Patent No. 1,153,050, Ever-Grip 10 Inch Adjustable (Nut) Wrench.

Unlike the previous question/images, this does not have a fancy name stamped into it. Though the images, taken under inadequate light, do not show it clearly, one side is decidedly greenish, almost military green. "Let's paint everything green, men!"

It's fully functional and shows little sign of abuse.

Because I don't find the unique things I have to ask the questions. Anyone have information?

Yep, saw it and have the PDF.

The lack opf the stamped name suggested to me that it was an early version. The greenishness reminded me of too many US Amy approved pieces of equipment, but may a previous owner liked green. Nonetheless, thanks for giving my question a little attention Private. I know I can always couint on you to havine something to add.

I tend to agree with you on it being early. Maybe what the patentee was making in Missouri before the eponymous company name in Chicago took over. There are a few different versions shown on DATAMP. I am skeptical of a military application. There is no precedence for the Army buying "innovations" like this in the Interwar years or at any time in its history. Green paint or not.

Archive.org has several mentions of the company in Oil Industry publications as well as "This Is Our First Advertisement" in 1923 in "Oil Weekly".

Your suggestion about local distribution before the Chicago company came in to existence makes sense.

Thanks again for taking the time to read, consider and comment.
