Hi all,
I’m new to this group. I finally found a drill press in great working condition, but looks rough. I intend on restoring it. I attached some pics. If anyone knows where to get parts, please reply.
Cheers

I apologize for the short posting. I want to share a bit more about the drill and the gentleman I purchased it from.
This drill was in a barn/garage and purchased by the original owner new. The seller is the owners son. He remembered this drill growing up and his dad working on it. He had it plugged in and ready to test. I flipped it on and it was still smooth and quiet with no vibration. One arm handle was replaced and it looks like some sort of lift weighted system was either added or an option when ordering. I couldn’t find out specifics, such as a year. I think it’s circa 1955, but that’s mostly a guess. It has to weigh in at around 2-300lbs.
I was assured that his dad took care of his tools.
So, now it sits in my forester waiting for my two boys to help me take it out… lol

Looks nice. There are many threads on the King Seeley drill press. Grab a drink, find a comfy chair and go down the rabbit hole. Welcome to the club!

That is a late Craftsman 100 floor-standing model offered in the 1956-1957 catalogs. I don't recall if that model came in gray, but I think yours is likely a '57. It has the earlier features; stationary motor mount, fine-thread feed stop rod and smaller 3/8-16 feed handle threads. Obviously, the motor is earlier.

The lift mechanism is a PressMate table elevator from the early '80s.

The original paint on the head casting looks great! The chrome has issues, but that's common on the later machines when the plating was not as good. If you plan to repaint the table and/or base, Rustoleum Champaign Mist is a decent match, but not perfect.

I do have quite a few of the parts that are in less demand, and don't have any good 3/8-16 feed handle rods at the moment. Someone somewhere posted a link to a website (not McMaster) where there were reasonably priced machine handle rods in various lengths and sizes. I searched for a bit but could not find it.

What is your general location? Please update your GJ profile.

FrankLee,
Thanks for the very useful reply. I am new to this forum and can already see that like me, these folks are serious about their vintage tools. I feel that these old tools will outlast most new tools and were made to withstand daily use under heavy conditions, thus the purchase of this 103.24821 floor drill press. I did update my GJ profile, thanks for that tip and the paint type to use as well!
This is my first vintage tool outside of my Dalta band saw that it only about 25 years old. For some reason, I'm now fascinated with antique and vintage drill presses as well as jointers like Oliver. Can't justify a $7k jointer to my wife...
I'm in Telford PA. I'm a hobbyist furniture maker for about 42 years and am addicted to woodworking. 3 years to retire and that's when the real fun starts. I've been a member of woodcentral.com for over 25 years as well.
I actually found this scroll saw in front of a funeral home that was having construction done and it was being thrown out. Everything turns freely and functions. Don't know much about it yet. I'm excited about finding out more regarding this scroll saw.
Cheers

There's been a couple posts recently regarding the Pressmate drill press table elevator offered by Sears in the early '80s. I did some minimal searching for an owner's manual but came up empty; none here on GJ and nothing on VM.

Attached is a very grainy, low-res pdf scan I got from someone years ago. I supposed it's better than nothing until a nice copy pops up.
