First of all, Hello all! - long time lurker first time poster - Im in dire need of some good good advice... i recently bought the Mr. Heater 50,000 BTU garage heater... its probably around 60 lbs. Would i be able to use these https://www.tannerbolt.com/default....zytMX9eU-bGr3RTE7uJn8nhz9l1bULVAaAtPbEALw_wcB with 3/8 threaded rod into them connected to the mounting brackets on the heater to hold it up... im guess im not sure if the rod threads going into the anchor would be strong enough to hold the heater up, i dont want the weight of the heater to destroy the threads and then it fall (if that makes sense)... i mean, i think it would be as its not a super heavy heater and there will be 4 anchors with 4 different rods... what are your folks thoughts on this? Thank you for any and all replies! means a lot!

Would you be mounting these into wood? Sheeting or trusses/rafters? Why not just mount the brackets direct to the wood? I've seen people on here and YT do that. You get the 1in required clearance on the top from the bracket to the heater itself.

I'd be willing to bet, the 1/4 lag would brake or pull out before the 3/8 tread gave way. The problem I see is, the spacing. Most people use strut channel to catch trusses/joists and still put the heater where you want it.

That works! Looks better than some installs I have seen!
This method is used commercially all the time. The first time I saw this done, I was in awe.
The guys placed the unit on the floor, sitting on a Genie lift and used a laser plumb to indicate exactly where on the ceiling to install the anchors. Then, they just cranked it up and installed the nuts and jamb nuts.

Thanks guys ! I'm going to eventually sand and stain those boards as well as add trim to match all around the garage ceiling borders.

I put the heater on top of some OSB that i cut out and used on my drywall lift and went from there lol! worked good to help get it into place.
