To anyone on the fence I put this set in my cart this morning with about 66 available at my local HD. I refreshed the web page this evening and for about 5 min the product became unavailable for ordering online or pickup. Discouraged….I selected the more compact smaller Dewalt 3/8” with one 5Ah battery for $199. Then I reloaded the Dewalt 1/2” one more time and the availability changed to 5 available for local HD. I dumped the compact 3/8” and placed my order before things changed again. My CC got charged and sale is complete for the 1/2” plus 4&6 Ah batteries. Just checked and now the website says unavailable.

UPDATE 11/26/21: HD website bumped the price up $30 for the "real" Black Friday special and now the Dewalt impact wrench+batteries availability is back ;)

Thanks. I have the metric, but didn't think I'd need the SAE, at the regular price. At this price, I'm good to go. Thanks again

That DeWalt Battery Kit and Impact Wrench Deal comes and goes. Best to check back routinely if you want it. Still a good deal, even at the increased price of $229,

Ordered the Dewalt Bandsaw twice, bandsaw cancelled twice. Go to the store and they have atleast 3 in stock. It was a madhouse so I bought it outright in hopes of getting it reconciled later. Anyone else deal with this? I could understand if it were a straight up mistake but they are saying it is "out of stock"

Hmm, did they not have the batteries at the store? Why not just do the whole deal while you were there?

I think your best bet is to go back to the store while the promotion is still active and get them to do the deal. You’re there with the item, prepared to return it if needed, so that they can sell it back to you as part of the combo. If they don’t have stock of the rest of the combo, say that you’d like them to order the rest of it through them and you’re happy to come pick it up once it arrives. Given that you’re ready to pay up front for the whole shebang and not receive the rest till later, you should be in the clear.

If they’re not going along with your plan, show them the “cancelled, not in stock” messages and say “I know, it’s crazy, stock is changing all the time! Imagine how excited I was when I found this here!”

This thing changed price in my cart about 4 times already. It was as low as $829 yesterday, which is a pretty darn good deal. This box isn't as nicely built as the US General Boxes, but one of my old diesel tech's used it every dayfor a few years in a shop environment and it help up decent. I was close to clicking the button to order it, but I really have no idea how I am building in tool storage in the barn so didn't want to buy it just to buy it....

I believe HD ordered stores to pull the 5 inch bandsaws off inventory available for store fulfilment of online orders. The Battery Starter Kit Deal only lasted a few hours, and was "Store Pickup Only" for the Bandsaw. My store had three in stock, but showed none available online. Good Luck trying to get the Store to honor that deal, but worth a try.

I bought the smaller version a few years ago. Crazy sale for ~ $350. I also bought a Husky box, nearly identical to what is posted above. For me, it was about drawer size and layout. I can tell you, there is a difference in quality between the two brands, though it's mostly in the drawer slides. I'm not sure either box would survive daily use, but the Milwaukee does have a better chance.

Just went through this with Big Lots. Online only sale, with store pickup option. Coffee order canceled cause that blend was out of stock. I went to the store, found a different blend on the shelf, and ordered it. As I left the aisle, headed to the front with the coffee, I had to squeeze past a pallet. On that pallet was about 30 boxes of what I’d originally ordered. When I got to the front and the lady pulled the order I’d just made, she saw the cancelled order. She apologized, and said they didn’t have any of that one. She was shocked when I told her there was half a pallet at the end of the aisle. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Had something similar happen during Ryobi Days. A call to customer service should take care of it, and is probably a better option. In-store you’re likely gonna have to wait in a long line, then wait again for a manager, then wait again while they try to figure out what to do. of course, that’s if the manager doesn’t instantly tell you they they can’t do anything. I think the service center has more options. Plus, while you’re inevitably on hold, you can sit the phone down on speaker, and do other things with your time

Yeah. Looking back, I probably should have grabbed two and skipped the Husky. Just couldn't get the drawers to make sense for me twice. Of course, fast forward to now, and I'm down sizing a bit, and growing M12 and hand tools a bit, so the drawers might actually worked out.

The fact is, once I settle things down, I'll bit the bullet if I need to change out. We're actually talking about what the next 5 years looks like, do we move out of state, etc. I look around my garage and house and think, "man, that's a lot of stuff to move." Then I read where one member is moving his entire farm, and equipment, out of state. Everything but the livestock. Heck, mine's a piece of cake in comparison!

Regarding dewalt Bandsaw. Situation resolved although with alot of work on my part. Go to the store, state the issue, and get "no problem" at first. MGR calls, No Can Do on the deal. I persist it is clearly possible, I can do it right now except your system shows no stock when clearly there is stock. MGR changes online stock qty like he's changing the channel on his TV. Then I order online and WAIT for 45mins for the "order to clear".
Christ. Mind you the employees were great, the MGR was obnoxious and it came across as if he was checkmating and happy about it.

Anyway. right now you can order 1 FOR PICKUP from Roosevelt store in Philadelphia . and battery kit from catonville store in Maryland

Yea, I'm glad it worked out for you on the Bandsaw. Just as I suspected, all of the stores purposely pulled their stock for online purchase, probably to avoid selling it below cost.

I have been out of the game for a while, but this is really neat! Home Depot clearance that can be ordered online! And REAL clearance at 75% off.

I hear good things about the Tekton wrenches, but don't know if I would really use SAE. Is the quality that good?

Here is another exampleThis deal was good for a few hours but looks to be dead now - (I did not post it because it was dead before I got shipping confirmation) you may be able to try other stores though.

it was $899, but (on a tip) i changed the store to Virginia Beach, changed the color to Black, and got it for $399 shipped - Somebody out there knows how to search their site. It works great, and the shipping was freight! A truck pulled up and two men unloaded it and rolled it to my garage!

This may be a new era of HD clearance.

My local HD rarely has any good prices on Clearance racks. Another one across town has much lower store traffic, and is always loaded with deals on clearance. With $3 gas, not worth a special trip, but I always drop by when in the area of the other store.

I found some Defiant door knob whole house packs at my local one. $16 for 3 privacy knobs, 3 pass through ones, a dead bolt and an exterior keyed knob. Wife had been wanting to replace all the bronze knobs from the 70s in our house, so these will do nicely. I bought the 3 they had, which covers just about every door in the house.

I tried looking them up but the website said not in stock anywhere and no price listed, so no clue how much the kit originally was. Box said it was a $76 value so I am guessing around $50 originally.

that was an in-store only item for the holidays, that got the early mark down ax. might be able to get internet sku (for brickseek) if you have a pro-xtra account and select the item from the logged transaction

That reminds me of an old Home Depot clearance trick from long ago that might be helpful to some. Set aside the paper ads (or digital scans) from Black Friday, Holiday Sales, etc. and note the things that say "Special Buy" in the ads. Those are usually the SKUs that are just for seasonal, etc. and they will not carry long term. It has probably been 10 years, but I used to note all the "Special Buys" from Black Friday, then buy them up cheap in March and flip them. I live in an area with access to a lot of Home Depots and could usually find a store or two that forgot to put things out for the sales and just watch them in the rafters for a few months.
