This morning, seen these two deals..
Wow! Those Kobalt trimmers are showing as $49 around here.
Weh-he-he-hellllll.....
After talking myself out of even bothering to look in either of the two stores that showed inventory (2 at one store, 4 at another), I decided to give it a shot...
Went to North Providence, RI, because I was Christmas shopping nearby, even though the Lowe's site said there were only 2 left (which often means zero).
Lowe's website: Original price, $69, sale price, $49.
Got to the store, they had 5 (not 2) left!
Lowe's shelf price, $25.07.
While disappointed that it wasn't $17.17, I figured it was close enough. Best surprise was yet to come...
Scanned price out the door: $13.77!!!!!
I splurged and let the cashier talk me into a 3-year extended warranty, came out to around $20! Being the paranoid self that I've turned into recently (when clearance prices seem too good to be true), I checked out the online reviews. Only negatives involved the trimmer head. I have yet to find a good / easy one from any brand, so I'll chalk that up as par for the course with string trimmers...
I own a bunch of the attachments (tiller, brush cutter, pole saw), and have a Troy Bilt 4-stroke power head that runs, but won't shut off. I gave up on trying to fix it years ago, now I'll gladly throw that away and keep the accessories!
I controlled the urge to go back and buy the 4 remaining on the shelf, LOL...
Thanks,
@rexer!!!
Mike
