Anyone here making their own flexzilla air tool whips or know where to get some made? I need a few 6 to 8 ft. whips for grinders and burr tools, but just need 1/4" brass male NPT ends. I don't like the ball swivel joints they use on some of them. I see the hose is available in bulk.

Many thanks. I have thought about that as well. We used to use a kit from Western Enterprises to make up argon and air hoses at work. I may go that route if the type of flexzilla whips I want are not commercially available. Just need to find out what size ferrule to use.

Many thanks. I could not find the flexzilla hose on their website though. Got a link to the flexzilla whips?
What is so special about Flexilla? Amazon Hose will have a functional substitute. Maybe even a superior alternative. They can crimp on about any hydraulic or pneumatic fitting you can imagine.

The flexzilla hose is light and durable while still having a 300 psi rating. If they have something similar that would be fine.

Flexzilla offers aluminum compression fittings. They used to offer aluminum push on fittings; a few liquidators sell what is left of those.

I use brass push on fittings in conjunction with bulk hose to make whips.

The flexzilla hose cover seems to get real nasty over time, maybe not a problem in a home gamer app but in a heavy equip/industrial setting with lots of grease and oil.

We use a lot of push lock hose so we always have drops to make whips from, plus with push lock fittings no clamps required.

Yes, and I see no reason not to use them. They're cheap and perfect fit for the hose.

Thanks, I agree and would never want to use it in an industrial setting either. It is fine for what I use if for at home though.

I use Otiker style clamps like the Stainless steel ones used for PEX. And a PEX crimper. Has a small protruding ear but way better than screw style hose clamps. Cheapest solution because I already have the PEX crimper. If you decide on this route I can see what diameter clamps you need.

Pretty hard to beat industrial hose like Aeroquip and push on fittings. I have air hoses in my shop that are still in good shape and pushing 40 years old.

I have a 50 foot Flexilla. I am curious if it will be around in 10 years, but I just use it for home remodeling projects.

We keep SUR&R HC102 clamp kits around. I use the one I have in my service truck all the time fixing lines on normal barbs.

Yeah we're slowly transitioning all our hoses to push lock. We're doing all our 1/2"x25' hoses we use to run 3/4" guns a lot, PVC or regular red hose gets torn up quick.

Forty years ago that push on hose was nearly $2 a foot and I thought I was crazy. It was a good decision! It was used for five years in a mechnics shop, then I closed the shop and have been using it in my home shop for years.
