I too would be done. I have/had 2 pair of their logger boots in my cart. Glad I came back and saw this. I believe your request was pretty easy to fulfill and shipping them back would have been silly. With today's technology, a couple pictures is all that should be needed to get a pick-up slip generated for a return. I'm thinking I would have just taken/sent them back to where I bought them and called it a day.

Their policy:

https://www.carolinashoe.com/Customer_Service

Carolina Shoe Company produces quality footwear that serves many different purposes. We stand behind the products that we produce. At times, despite our best efforts to assure the best quality, a product purchased from a retailer may have a defect in materials and or workmanship as there are many components and processes that go into footwear manufacturing.

If a consumer believes that a manufacturer's defect has caused unusual wear or otherwise affects the use of the footwear, we require the consumer to return the footwear to the retailer where the footwear was originally purchased. The original selling retailer has its own policies and processes in place to satisfy the consumer including an initial inspection for normal wear. In the event that the selling retailer cannot reasonably satisfy the consumer, that consumer may then contact the brand manufacturer. If someone other than the original purchaser contacts or attempts to contact Carolina Shoe Company it will be necessary for us to receive the appropriate written authorization from the original purchaser authorizing Carolina Shoe Company to discuss the matter with the representative and to deal with the representative in resolving the matter.

Carolina Shoe Company requires that a consumer have the original sales receipt within one year of purchase and can identify the retailer that the footwear was purchased from. We may use reasonable efforts to contact that retailer on the consumer’s behalf to ensure full satisfaction. In the event that this is not possible the consumer may choose to return the footwear to us for inspection. If a determination is made that there is in fact a defect Carolina Shoe Company has, at its option, the right to either repair, prorate the value of the original purchase, as appropriate or replace the footwear with the same or comparably valued footwear. If no defect is apparent the inspected footwear will be returned to the consumer.
I contacted Carolina through email, along with pictures. It's kind of hard to return a product that I purchased online from a vendor 600 miles away. I did contact the vendor, but didn't get a reply to the email and there was no phone number. Besides that, I didn't want to return them for a new pair or get a refund. All I wanted was a new speed hook for my boot and I told that to the Carolina rep and also gave him/her the seller info along with a screenshot of the transaction. Carolina basically told me that I didn't purchase the boots through an authorized seller and I was s.o.l. Part of it was my fault for buying a pair of boots through Ebay, but apparently size 12 is the most popular size out there, there were none to be found anywhere local or even on the legitimate websites. I guess the "rona" affected the boot and shoe industry. I will say that because of that experience, Carolina has lost a customer because of their unwillingness to replace a 50¢ speed hook that I am sure they have by the 1000's somewhere.

I got them from here. I signed up for emails and got another 5% off. Shipping was free and super fast

Never heard of that company/website. But I will check them out. Thanks for the link.

EDIT: Their website is terrible. They claim to sell over 8 million products including 13,720 under the Proto name. But they have literally 5 categories on their entire website and only a few sub-categories under each of those. Other than brand, price and condition there is absolutely no other way to sort their inventory... You have to know exactly what you're looking for. You can only display 36 items per page and Proto alone would be 381 pages. Such a shame.

EDIT #2: The sitemap helps narrow things down a bit. But still difficult. They have something like 70+ pages of pliers just as an example... https://www.govets.com/index.php/sitemap/

Couple freebies
Cord reel that needed some repair and is an upgrade to the old crapsman.
A Dremel scroll saw. It's cheezy but if and when I ever need one, the price was right. 20220101_173754.jpg
20220101_183122.jpg

Also this 12V fuel transfer pump. Amazon deal for $38.

We finally had our Christmas, New Years Eve day. Here's the Dewalt bandsaw that I picked out. and a set of blades. It's going to get set in a SWAG table. Also some .22 ammo from my stocking and a couple of calendars.

KIMG1564.JPG

To go along with the SWAG table is a Incra miter gage and foot pedal switch. Also pictured is a SWAG circle cutter for the plasma cutter and a bag of blue shop towels. I get a package every year and right now, I have plenty to last me a while.

Was able to use my Xmas gifts today working on FIL’s Taurus. Got the 12V Husky ratchet, and some sit/kneeling Husky pads that are wider/denser than the garden kneeling pad I used to use. Definitely made it a little easier all the way around working on suspension.

Got a Proto 3/8 to 1/2 inch adapter for impact, and this tape measure tool. I saw the tape measuring tool from another member ( it may have been on this thread but don’t remember) and thought I’d get one. Came in a pack of two on Amazon.

44BA40A2-C7DD-4CA8-B027-535A68FEBB3F.jpegEvery year my Ace Hardware stores have a 50% off sale on New Year’s Eve and day and every 4th of July. So I took advantage of the sale and being the tool fool I am bought a bunch of stuff lol. Let’s see I got a 6 inch 1/2 extension Craftsman made in Taiwan. And then one of the stubby regular handle screwdrivers made in USA. 16.5 inch Channellock pliers which are handy for opening oil barrels and compressing caliper pistons too. Then a 26mm wrench a 1 5/16 wrench both to fill in my sets and get me closer to completing them. I’m sure I’ll find something to use the 1 5/16 on I think my dads truck has that size somewhere. The wrenches are made in China they had the India made ones for both sizes too but believe me the China ones felt way more quality than the India ones. Then an Ace Hardware brand magnetic tray. Only two locations had those luckily I picked it up at the second one that did. Any mechanic or car person knows they are required to have. Then I got some Kroil both the penetrating oil and the protectant. Then I managed to find some Duke Cannon pumice hand soap which will be good we will see how it does. My hands usually stay stained for a few days so we will see if this will prevent that. I think that’s everything I got today haha went to every Ace around that had the sale. Sorry for the mess in some of the photos. I had all that stuff nicely lining the stairs and my brother in law knocked it off when he was carrying his toolbox up the stairs.

Edit to add: forgot the Milwaukee wire strippers. F7F236B9-9BE6-47BC-93A8-F5D518BF179F.jpeg

@ designer485: Is that Beta set made in Italy? They don't even show the 951/S6 on their website. They only show S8 and S14 under the 951/S model designation.

How do you like them compared to the Eklind? Been thinking about picking up a set of those in hex and torx.

Blake, you’ll love that stubby 5/16 Craftsman driver. If you can find a 3/8 one, you’ll knock people over to get them. They were the preferred driver for old gearheads like me that worked on Holley carburetors. I think they even had a 7/16” at one point that I would embrace illegal actions possibly to acquire. image.jpg

Yes they sure are handy. So much easier to hold than a traditional stubby. We had them at school and used the heck out of them.

Everything I have seen shows these to be made in Italy. They don't have a COO stamp on them, I was expecting to see one, but oh well. They get great reviews and seem well made. I haven't had a chance to even use them yet, but they feel great in my hand and the sliding detent keeps the handle in place well.

Menards 15% off bag sale today for the next 2 weeks. I’ve had my eye on a set of Greenlee’s to replace a set of Craftsman Professional USA Made set. I’ve had that set for years and never used them. Handle not comfortable in my hands.

That does look like a nice driver set. I'll admit that going to Menards tool selection is mostly an exercise in frustration, but there are a few decent items there.

Now I just need to figure out how to fit 4x8' sheets of plywood into a paper bag.

ForrestT: are the Greenlee screwdrivers U.S. made? Does the back of the package have any language on it that connects it to Emerson, or Ideal Industries? Please let me know. Thank you.

Is KANO made by KROIL or are they two different independent brands?

( each time I type in kanolabratories.com the only website it shows has to do with medical labs, etc.? :dunno:)

Never heard or seen this product brand before.

Thought about trying it out maybe.

Anyone here use's or has used it before?

If so your opinions, thoughts, reviews, etc. about it?

It should redirect you to www.kroil.com. Were you spelling laboratories correctly?

I've always had a can of this around but it's currently 29.79 at my local hardware store.

They are made in Taiwan. Very nicely finished. I’m pleasantly surprised by them. My electrician swears by them for the price.

Been wanting a better refillable aerosol bottle to replace my 20 yr old $5 HF one. Had my eye on the Hazet one for a while but at $70 there was no way I was gonna pay that much. Now they cost $100 or even more!

Haven't looked in a while & there are many more options now. But another member found one that is identical to Hazet one for only $40. I'm pretty sure it's from the same manufacturer as the Hazet one, both are made in Taiwan.

Bottle is nicely machined & thick alumn, I wanted this design cause it can unscrew halfway down. Makes cleaning so much easier. All the other ones like my HF only unscrews on top, fine for filling but a pain in the *** for cleaning. This one unscrews on top as well. Also the Schrader valve is on the bottom which is very nice. I hate how the Schrader valve sticks out sideways on the top of my HF one & on most others. This thing is really nice, just got it today, haven't even used it yet & I'm gonna order another one.

Awe man, that *****, had no idea they updated their website. I liked to buy Kroil directly from Kano cause most places online overcharged for it & it's pretty expensive as it is. Because it's expensive I use it sparingly & only on stuff that gives me trouble. Stuff always worked great for me when others didn't & I like the smell.

Anyways, they used to have this deal where you buy a can of Kroil & could choose a sample of one of their other products. Looks like you can't buy directly from them anymore. I got Microil instrument oil as a sample & really like that stuff too. I was hoping to try more of their stuff for free w/ purchase.

I save the WD-40 nozzles & modify them to use on AeroKroil cans.

New 19mm wrench. I use this size all the time but don’t have very many wrenches this size. So I got an extra to keep in my work box for $3.29 it’s not going to hurt if something does happen to it or whatever. Made in China but oh well I have had good luck with Rural King tools in the past.

Let us know what you think of it after some use.
Drilled 121 five eighths holes in this 1/2 inch welding table top today. The band where the oiler connects to the drill only has a seal at the bottom so if you open up the valve too much the cutting oil over flows the top of the band. That was the only problem I had. Once I figured out how much to open the valve it worked great. I adjusted the variable speed controller to as slow as I could but still cut well. Took a little less than a minute per hole.

Here's also another picture of the mag drill in case someone is confused.

Jeez man, how long did that take? I made a 3’x4’ welding table a year or two back, same hole pattern. I had the holes laser cut. Still had to drill a handful of other holes for mounting it to my base and that was more than enough for me! Bet the mag drill and annular cutter made it a lot better though!

It went so much faster than expected. I have never used a mag drill or annular bits. I started slow and after 20 holes I could put my fingers on the bit and it wouldn't burn. After that I pushed it hard and it was done before I knew it. The biggest PITA was the mess with fillings and cutting oil.
