Is their a manufacturer out there that makes a quality chuck? My limited experience is that they all blow!

Drill bits for example, the chucks simply do not grip.

Currently have a Craftsman, had Dewalt's prior. I've never met a drill bit I couldn't damage at the base.

I'd go Milwaukee or Bosch, both have good ratcheting keyless chucks.

Dewalt's ratcheting chuck is pretty decent too imho.

I recently tried out Porter Cable's Li-ion drill, and I was truly surprised as to how good the chuck was. I wish it was a ratcheting chuck, but it was one of the more accurate chucks I've seen in recent years.

I tend to use drill bits which have 3 flats these days, so I don't see much slippage either way.

Pretty much any of the single sleeve ratcheting chucks from the premium brands are good. They all lock, so that they are tightened with one hand and have a ratcheting action as they are tightened. They also usually have carbide jaws. I HATE the old double sleeve keyless chucks which is what I am assuming you are used to.
