2022! Time for a new thread!
I actually got these on a penny deal at the end of 2020. Bought 1 and it rang up at a penny. Made that purchase and went and bought 10 more. A few days later I checked and they still had a bunch so I picked up all remaining. I ended up with 24, so I spent less than a quarter. Gave them out as Xmas gifts to everybody and anybody that year. With the $0.03 pricing they might just be a penny too.
$49.98 in Athens, GA. I'll keep an eye on them though.
Two stores nearest me have dropped this in the past year and a half.Opposite of a deal - HD in my area no longer will have a cull lumber cart. Employee said most stores are dropping it.
No, those scraps of plywood and other cut-offs are nice to have. Often times they give them to you, and they are useful rather than just throwing them away but I'm sure you all know that. Two stores nearest me have dropped this in the past year and a half.
Another store I asked about a price of cut plywood in the cull pile and all I heard from the employee was him complaining about the plywood in the pile which should have been tossed by the employees that worked prior to him.
I formally worked for Lowes and people would ask why we didn't have one and HD did. I was told it had to do with the fact that the scrap was from customers that had already paid for it and selling it twice would be wrong but who knows the real story. HD sell their millwork by the foot and Lowes sells it by the stick which is why I figure they always had the cull millwork cart. Two stores nearest me have dropped this in the past year and a half.

Lowes had 2 generic codes that would allow you to ring up odd items and put in a description but corporate really started making that a big no-no and would slap your hand for it.
I always figured the reason Lowes didn't have a cull cart for free stuff is money. If people get scraps for free then why would they spend money for the wood they sell. We would keep a pallet for the "kickers" and then band them up when it got too big and we would send it back on the pallet truck. Cull lumber would be made into a "cull cart" but would be from **** lumber in its full size and was generally a mix of various lumber. Scraps from customers off cuts from the panel saw were disposed of asap. Hell we had to bust up pavers that were chipped up and bury them in the hoppers or people would want a deal on them. They were all scan based so damaged pavers were credited by the vendor and was a big no-no to sell. For sure no one should be paying twice for an item, especially someone elses scrap cuts, but that isn't what the cull lumber cart should have on it. It should just be poor quality damaged boards, possibly returns/exchanges from a pallet stack.
Scrap cuts should be thrown out, or left out to be taken for free.
Just picked one up for $10. Figured for $10 how could you go wrong?I actually got these on a penny deal at the end of 2020. Bought 1 and it rang up at a penny. One of my stores had 2 LP and 2 NG tagged. I assume they are leftover 2021 stock and theres an update model coming out. I needed the NG version and was psyched as NG ones are never in store let alone on deal.
Great deal for sure. Wife got a Weber Genesis 345 this spring and man is it nice. It’s sitting right next to our Weber gold series charcoal grill. One of my stores had 2 LP and 2 NG tagged. Saw these today in southeast PA, of course YMMV. Lots of nails were ~50% off.
