I got an email about the Reekon Tomahawk tape measure.
This is the company that put the wheel measuring device (M1 Caliber) on the miter saw to help make more accurate cuts.
The Tomahawk tape measure itself it pretty slick. You can measure, push a button, and save the measurement. It can do inside measurements so you don't have to know the length of the tool itself. You can save those measurements to do all your cuts at once. It looks like you can even wirelessly connect the miter saw device and the tape measure so the miter saw device will display the number you wanted from the tape measure.
No price listed on the Tomahawk yet. I can't imagine it will be less than $200. I think that was the starting price
While it seems handy, it also seems more complicated than it needs to be and I don't think it will be widely embraced.
Who would be the target market for this? Residential framers? Finish and trim carpenters? Siding/gutter installers? Window installers? Plumbers? Drywallers? Industrial construction? Steel workers?
