I used the new oil drain pump (12v) I got from Amazon. I took a quart of oil out of my ‘08 Tacoma (416,000 miles) so I could add a bottle of Lucas High Milage oil stabilizer. It worked great but when I pulled the siphon hose out is was a little messy so I took it outside to clean it up so I could store the pump in my outbuilding 768F757B-94A2-4E0E-8F04-CE1F7D606AF0.jpegin my outbuilding.

If the pump can manage it, make a pickup bottle and vacuum the oil (or just use a shop vac with a 2 hose catch bottle - just don't let it over flow...)

Discovered mouse turds in the under-seat storage box on my ZRX (which hasn't be ridden since November, fired right up today tho). There's been a few around the garage for the past month or two. Will be spreading mothballs in the garage as soon as I get some.

Half-day friday at work, so got to spend the afternoon in the shop. Got the plumbing for the fish tank re-built. It's much better now.

I also built a small acrylic box. The idea is to hang the box on the aquarium so I can drip/add water to it slowly to acclimate new fish/shrimp.

I worked on converting 2 tractor lights(35 watt bulbs) to 100 watt driving lights for my jeep. I upgrade the wiring and use Wagner 4509 100 watt 13 volt aircraft landing lights instead of the cheap 35 watt sealed beams the lights come with. I use a standard relay and put the switch on the left side of the dashboard. The older lights I have I got from NAPA and they have rubber housing. the newer ones have composite plastic. I like either better than the chrome ones that just rust out sitting on the vehicle. The lights will go on the welded tabs on the jeep.

I've actually been looking at those as my Toro needs new skids. I was going to build something a bit more stout than the OEM ones but then saw the SnowBlowerSkids and they appear to be reasonably priced. Don't know that I would really save much building them myself.

Have you had a chance to use the snowblower yet with them installed? I'm curious how they work.
I’ve used the Snow Blower Skids for 5 years without any issues. I use them for gravel, asphalt & sometimes grass.

Do I need to? My initial thought was the 220v drier outlet but I don't have a spare 220v plug... I do have a 20a plug & outlet in the garage though...
I think the GFCI would have the opposite outcome you are looking for, probably trip and you'd just feed the mouse.

Same today as yesterday so far. Been super busy with other **** to do anything. But I DO need to get out there and make room to pull the Dakota in. I NEED to swap out the drivers side exhaust manifold and lower steering shaft. I started removing the manifold a month or so back, but the bolts are super rusted. Snapped a couple, and the others don’t fit any wrenches I have lol. They’re “supposed” to be 11mm. But they’re more like 10.75mm lol

So I ordered a bolt extractor kit from Amazon.

I’m not worried about snapping them off in the head, oddly enough, as that’ll give me some fresh material to weld a nut onto. As of now, it’s just too damn flakey.

Once the manifold job is done, and the lower shaft is done, I can diagnose the random hesitation I’m hoping is just odd A/F ratio readings due to the leaky exhaust manifold. But most importantly, after fixing THIS truck, I can pull the impala back in the garage and commence the transmission swap.

But for now, I may go out there, turn the heater on, and do some more organizing.

Got the overhead console installed in my Jeep. What a pain. Most of the upper trim had to be removed, headliner came down, had to be cut, and the overhead wiring harness from the passenger kick panel to the roof had to be replaced. I love it though, it’s a rare option on the XJs.

Preparing to venture out in the shop. Turning 2x4's into saw dust. I will be contemplating the entire time on how to glue this saw dust back into a 2x4. These suckers are expensive. Insert joke of choice;

A: Kaples lumber is hiring for $75 an hour.
B: No way, doing what?
A: Eating saw dust and pooping 2x4's
B: Haha very funny

Spiffed up the Explorer ST, going to the bike/truck/car show at Route 66 restaurant in Santa Clarita later. Also dropping by World Market to check out the British vittles while I'm in the area.

I am going to post this as a over thinking a problem. I have a John Deere X590 garden tractor and I needed to service the transmission. Well the filler spout for the tractor is under the fender deck and fuel tank. It is rather a poor design choice to begin with but I am glad I can at least service the transmission with good fluid. I have the fluid and then trying all sorts of ideas to get the fluid from the jug to the spout well that is difficult. I get my flexible funnel but that was not going to work.

I then see a battery powered fluid extractor at Harbor Freight so I picked that up and well that idea failed as the viscosity of the fluid just would not go in to the tank on the transmission.

Then after all that work I take the flexible spout off the harbor freight extractor and put it on a long neck funnel I had and it worked messy yes but it worked on filling the Transmission. Then it hit me I am a normal human as I had a manual fluid extractor that looks like a grease gun. I just wanted to hit my head on the wall multi times. tempImagebxZgSl.png tempImagerJ3ud2.pngtempImage1tnqxg.pngtempImagelvxxYI.png
