gpw Just saw your question. It's a backpack stove I believe. I've got another one just like it. Didn't try it to see. Here are the relevant part numbers and manufacture code. It's a No. 530 marked B46. Seems to have all the parts.
Actually TX, its a US Army Platoon Stove. Infantry if you want to call that "backpacking". Post WW2, but just barely - likes to run full tilt and can be hair singeing on light-up, so do that outside and follow the lighting instructions. Do NOT use regular pump gas. They say "Gasoline"; but that's WW2 Gas - which was white gas except for certain fighter planes...
So no, "regular pump gas" is not "White gas".
TX thanks for the follow-up. Looks like yours has a wrench/pot holder included. Those 530s are interesting stoves. I have one dated A47 (Jan. 47) which belonged to a dear friend, who no longer has a use for it... Have not been able to get it running, somewhat to my consternation. Eventually...
Wholeheartedly agree w/Outlaw about STRICTLY using "white gas" (aka naptha) in these old stoves. Otherwise, one will spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning out the generator (screen) of mineral deposits.
Lugz, that's a great haul - the box especially! Does it have the tray? There's one FS in tomorrow's estate sale here in town (era UNK), but I'm headed out of town early, so will miss the sale.

No, seriously, it will be fun. But the days matter. Hopefully you'll have a Thursday, Friday, or Sunday morning, but each of those is a different flea market, a different location.
