Polished concrete maintenance.

Hello from Minnesota,

A couple years ago, I had my concrete polished. It came out fantastic but it's shine is not like it used to be. Besides mopping periodically, what would be a good technique for creating a high gloss shine, like it had when new?

The floor is in great condition still so I've been considering a buffer machine, white pad, and simple spray buff. I would like to know if this would be a good approach or maybe others have a better system?

Thanks in advance.

Can you apply this over the top of something like Euco Diamond Hard densifier/sealer?

Many of the major concrete floored big box chain stores use a buffer and some sort of sealer/wax (I'm thinking wax).

Hi, yes Ballistix will work with your sealer. Prep would be buffing with a white pad, clean with our 99% alcohol and microfiber pad, spray with garden sprayer and gently mop with microfiber pad. This would give it a bulletproof finish unlike anything currently available for polished concrete.

Penske Trucks has just approved this system for their shops and will be using Ballistix on polished concrete as their working surfaces going forward.

Totally different application but we have concrete ******** bases that we use Johnson's Paste Wax on every year to keep them working, and they shine up quite nicely.

Thanks. Is there any info on coverage?

On a sealed floor coverage would be about 1,000 sq ft/gal. Please contact us directly at [email protected] or call for pricing since this is a new offering and not on our website yet.

I just finished my shop and had the floors polished. He sealed it with Prosoco Consolideck PolishGuard. My local equipment rental place sells it. Turned out great and he recommended re-applying with a machine like you mentioned every 2-4 years, depending on the type of traffic/wear.

Not to high-jack your thread, but I would be interested in hearing what @Armorpoxy thinks about that sealer.

Hi, we used to own a large contracting business that installed polished concrete. In our opinion a standard polished concrete floor even with stain guard is not fluid resistant and can still easily stain and mark, and hence why not normally recommended for auto shop type or similar environments with liquids since the Guard doesn't protect the floor from absorption.

Our new Ballistix product we are carrying does offer this and will over time revolutionize the usage of polished concrete in auto shop environments. The good news is that with nominal prep, Ballistix can be applied over conventional polished concrete.

Thanks. Do you have a link to the Ballistix product on your site? That link above isn't working for me.
