Fischer xls snow plow. Power extendeding wings with a crazy controller and solinoid pack. Came off a burned out munciple truck “as is, where is, self load”

So plow was dirt cheap, and I mean dirt cheap. After selling parts that came with it I’m at the $200 mark

Lift cylinder and pump/control unit all fire damaged. Lower cylinders showed no damage so game on

Winched it up on the rollback and boogied

Cut all the truck **** off it, shortened it
Up as short as possible and welded it to a 1/2” blank plate. Braced as needed

Plow works good for skidsteer as it’s a trip edge plow and can be solid mounted.

Now time for the hydraulic sequencing valve so one function of auxiliary hydraulics performs two different hydraulic functions. This allows this to be universal mount to any standard skidsteer with no special wire harness or Manual controls

So functions always as a normal power angling snow plow. Hold the power angle against left or right stops and it extnededs or retracts the power wings for more versatility

I like it! 👍
But I like a flexible "top link" allowing the blade to float several inches without having to lift the boom particularly with a vertical lift boom. They're heavy. You should be fine on paved ground. Nice job!

I've built a few plows in the past, and I too like a chain lift, or something with a few inches of float at minimum.

That said, using that diverter valve is genius compared to having to wire in a 7 pin connector, or a bulky set of controls into the cab! I never knew you could do what you just did with just the 2 main hydro hoses, nice work.

Would you mind sharing what you're using to keep the one hydro hose out of the way, I could probably use a few of those on some implements.

On edit, I just noticed the snow tires in the background. Looks like you haven't used them yet. You're going to love them when you get them on, they make a HUGE difference!

I wanted to do a torsion lower mount with a slotted upper that hit for max down/up but was gonna get kinda spendy. Always can cut it up and add it. Suggestions best way to do
Dislike the chain mounts, find I need down pressure.

Have small snow tires on the 190 and the case currently but those some 22.5’s I picked up cheap and will go on the 190 for next season Will be super tall. And more durable in dry conditions for that heavier machine 5250A9B8-F2DF-4E2A-9F0E-477A93692AAB.jpegD7EF1F64-DF4E-4A22-B380-4181E1116C81.jpeg

Nice grab and good work on that. Good hose on it too, I work for Parker as a field engineer in hose and fittings.

ZK, For your down pressure situation could you use an air spring [I'm thinking pickup overload kind or P-U air-shock(?)]. You would still need a chain or slotted mount of some kind. Alternatively a trailer tailgate/ramp spring could be fashioned for some down pressure as well, they are available in some pretty stout sizes. Harry

I built my ssqa plow for the tractor chain slung.

For down pressure I curl down and the upper frame contacts the lower and puts as much load as I want.

That western blade on the big track loader in the back is like that. But that’s beat the thing up pretty bad and is in need of repair lol. But that was a pos to start with

I need down pressure to, what I built was a tube in a tube telescoping almost "top link" like a tractor.
Originally I built in about 6" of travel. Too much and became aggravating when lifting, I modified it down to about 3" travel and am happy with that.
Most of my plowing is on gravel/dirt and also have a vertical lift boom that would dig in before the ground froze. This may not be a problem with a "radial" lift type boom.
Very nice job with the hydraulics 👍

Nice setup, ZK! Looks like you'll get to test it out thoroughly over the next few days.

How's the skidsteer-adapted wheel lift working out? Kind of looks like it on the C190 in the last photos you posted.

It’s done some serious work! Normally lives on an l190. Really needs to be in the c190 but that machine isn’t at that location

Plow works well. Poly cutting edges need to Wear in a bit but scrapped pretty nice. Plow weighs enough that the new holland float on a vertical boom machine did a nice job without a chain support

I picked up a 10' municipal plow a few years ago and adapted it to skidsteer quick attach like you did. Mine is just a straight blade with angle and like you said, the float function on my bobcat is just right for any needed float.
My neighbor has a mid-size bobcat and borrowed the blade once. He could push it OK, but his loader was too small to lift and turn without getting tippy. It's just right for mine with a set of chains on the back for traction, but I'd love to have wings like yours so the snow didn't trail off the sides so much when I'm pushing it further to clear a wider area.
