Lucky you. I never see real Mapp in any form around here. I think plumbers beat me to the yard sales.
We had an invite to pre-view an estate sale one of our club members was having. His FIL was a jack of all trades retiree. I found a case of MAPP gas and 3 separate torch heads in the shop that they couldn't figure out how to dispose of ... so I grabbed it along with a bunch of misc tools. It is probably the last we will see around here.

I don’t disagree. Just I’m trying to rake up a couple years worth of leaf litter out of the grass. When it’s soggy, it’s a PAIN. Plus all the moisture makes the bags heavier (more $$$ at the dump). If I had all the leaves picked up, sure. Rain for a week straight!

Yeah, tomorrow afternoon say 100% out here. So I may have time in the AM to do some more out in the yard. How can I make that storm make a U TURN, and head BACK?!!?!?
Stihl backpack blower. Mine will pry soaking wet last fall leaves off the ground and scoot them along in pouring rain.

It might even turn the storm, but I'm doubtful.

Finally tore down the tractor engine that quit on me last summer. Wasn't an oil burner but had low compression after it quit & before I tore into it.
Looks like a piece of ring snapped off. Top two rings are jammed in the lands and there a nasty gouge in the cylinder wall. Considering replacement vs repair.20220316_153959.jpg20220316_154057.jpg
Cylinder appears to be sleeved, should not be an expensive fix. What were the other cylinders like?

Garage *adjacent* again...

More ******* about with the ceiling fan install in the spare bedroom today. Tweaked my back twisting on the step ladder last weekend so there's been a delay. Got the brace fitted & tightened in place, fitted the box, took it all down again as the brace wasn't quite level, or flush with the attic side of the ceiling. Got the brace level & reinstalled the box. Now it's level, but an RCH off flush with the bedroom ceiling so it got some aerospace engineering & now it's all kosher.

Only got a tingle off the wiring, actually a lot less severe than the static shocks off the freezers at Wally World.

Need a small ceiling spackle repair. Waiting for that to dry.

That’s a great idea!
I stole it. Plus the manufacturer I bought the booth from recommended doing something like this so you don't have to run the fans 24x7.

Im hoping to hang some lights from the pvc too. I may go back and glue some of the joints to make the frame sturdier.

"Summerized" my snowblower, ran my craigslist leaf blower and did some maintenance on it. This thing puts homeowner leaf blowers to shame, couldn't touch a contractor style backpack blower for what I paid.

Fitted a new custom tube style license plate frame on the Harley 74 FLH. Have a couple mods to make to it before I call it finished.

The GX is getting some much needed love before camping/towing season.

Rear/Front/Transfer case got fresh oil. Concluded its impossible to handle gear oil w/o making a mess.

Have some funky handling issues, replaced front LCA/Hardware and got it aligned. Issue still there. So ordered all new rear suspension links. Hoping that will fix it.

Also one of the spark plug tube seals is leaking and causing a stink. So those are on order as well.

Sanded & painted my bench grinder. Mounted grinder this afternoon. It looks better all one color.

Mounted a towel bar that matches the cabinet handles. I need to fill/paint the little holes.

I think it has been years since I have seen a Van Dorn tool. You have done a fine job.

My "Helper" and provider of muscle called in sick today, I think he did this one day last year. I told him to stay home and get well. I had nothing planned that can't wait until next Saturday. I will pay him a "Sick Day".

Finished for the day.

Took the restrictor plate off the HVLP guns. We're keeping this on the down low.

Then finally got around to adjusting the cut on and cut off points on the compressor. It kicks on at 90psi and off at 130psi. I was running 80 to 120 previously.

Prepped another batch of pen blanks. They'll harden overnight. Made a dust collection table for the drill press. Searched for a little plastic cap. Did some dentless paint removal on a friend's car.

I'm fighting a pinched nerve or something.
Left shoulder/arm is giving me fits, but seems to help to keep moving, even slowly, so I got the ply and edge banding cut for the slicer stand.
Did some cleanup as well.

Hopefully I can get it assembled tomorrow.
Family stuff next week. Shop time will be limited.

Call me crazy, but I pulled the bumper off the Q5 again today to install an OEM hitch. It previously had a Drawtite hitch installed, with none of the electrics or the trailer control module. So much for the "towing package" it was advertised with. 😂 I'm guessing it was installed for a bike rack or something but it was clearly never used.

Drawtite hitch pulled off.

OEM hitch standing by. (actually this one is for a Porche Macan (same thing))

Had to install the bracket and the trailer control module. Car is prewired, just didn't come with the tow package. Red plug is for the brake controller (aftermarket) up front to tie into the module. It runs up front to a plug under the dash for the brake controller. Black plug goes to the 7/4 pin harness.

Had to go into several modules using VCDS to recode them to recognize the now installed trailer control module. It interfaces with a lot of stuff. Engine, trans, stability, lights, and a few more things. Got everything coded in and the car is recognizing the module. Tested the 7 pin and everything works as it should.

And lastly, the tools used this time.
