Bought a new Hustler Raptor X zero turn mower. Now, Working on chain to lock it in the trailer or yard. Have to do a little welding on the chain on the end. I plan on securing it with 2 chains and a cable lock. It may not prevent a theft, but should slow it down.

I finished up the workbench drops this morning.

One is a blower to blow off the bench and smaller projects.

The other is a second regulator and dryer for use with my hvlp paint gun.

I’m also working on converting an old hose reel hose to a portable hose. I just need one more fitting.

Working on replacing the rear trailing arms on my 07 GX470 salt belt family hauler. First tried my garage sale score Dewalt Corded impact. Nope. Went to farm and fleet, bought the GEN2 Mid-Torque (550lbs) and the Hi-Torque (1400lbs) just do I wouldn't have to make two trips if the bolts didn't move.

550lbs wasn't enough, so I stepped up to 1400lbs, which still wasn't enough. So it added heat....which WAS enough when combined with 1400lbs.

After all that, my parts didn't show up!!!

Every time someone posts a Tonka resto it makes me wish I hadn't given all of mine to my younger cousin.

Everytime I think about mine it makes me want to pull one out of storage and strap it to the trailer deck when I'm hauling a load. I saw a picture of a tractor trailer driver who does this. It's a fun idea and kids get a kick out of it.

Yesterday I reassembled this cylinder with new seals. The new seal kit didn't fit 100% right and I ended up using parts of the old seals with the new kit. V-Packs are always interesting. Hope it works!

*Any idea why the photo upload is giving me grief? I tried two different pictures for this post and it doesn't work. One says, this isn't a picture as expected or it uploads but only shows a gray thumbnail. I had to send the pictures to myself, re-download them from messages and upload those pictures. Weird. 🤔

Buttoned up the front end "rehab" (definitely not restoration, as evidenced by the photos) on the '72 Chevy. Just bleeding brakes and power steering, then waiting for winter to be cleaned from the roads before the test drive. Probably another month, at least.20220320_111714.jpg20220320_111736.jpg

I've seen restorations look much worse than that - don't sell yourself short, that's a clean looking setup!

Got bored yesterday and emptied out my pliers drawer. The rubber matt was sliding around, so I emptied the drawer, gave it a quick vacuum and then sprayed some 3M contact adhesive to the mat and the drawer. It's stuck pretty good. I either have too many pliers or need another or bigger tool box. It won't stay this way for long.

My 2000 Ranger 4.0L 4x4 started leaking coolant about 1 month ago & it was not warm enough for me to work on it then, but today it was up to 55° at 11 am so I went to work on it. Put some coolant dye in some coolant & checked it with a black light & showing a leak at the front plus I can feel that the rear intake gasket seems like it has blown out so I started taking it apart. I moved the p/s pump & the a/c compressor out of the way, removed the l/s valve cover, & the upper intake.

Valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets on my 2002 Nissan Frontier 2.4L 5MT. It sure is nice to work on simple 4 bangers that have easy access! It's at 180k and still running great.

I got two small Honey Do‘s off my list…..a 52 year old kitchen cabinet hinge repair and resoldered an eye hook back on to a sun catcher for the Queen.

How about neighbors garage? Good friend and long time neighbor had surgery on both knees last week. Fairly complicated, so they kept him overnight. He has been a good patient and followed the Dr's and "mamas" rules the last month. No alcohol, smoking, caffeine, sugar..ya know all the good stuff ;) He spent two days flat, and is now getting around the place pretty good with the aid of a walker. He text me earlier from his garage "man, you got a beer or a shot?". Of course I do. Mama was working and the two kids were out running somewhere. Took over about a 1/4 bottle of Maker's Mark and a 12. He's now ready to run up and down the road:ROFLMAO:
Walked back to my garage (about an acre lot apart) and got loaded up and ready to chase some crappies and catfish tomorrow morning. Should have changed over from snowblower and heater to mower, weedeater and tiller (next week), but nothing better than good neighbors

Rotated the tires on my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. I pulled the wheels and took them over to the wash area scrubbed the inside areas of the wheels to get of the brake dust. Inspected the brakes, front end components and grease the fittings then reassembled everything. As long as I don't feel any vibrations I will forgo the balance. Now I got clean wheels and a dirty truck. Just as I prepared to take the truck over to my wash area we got a heavy down pour of rain. I wait a day of so and then wash the truck later.tempImagePEdhg5.png

My daughter has a 2006 Highlander with failing clear coat. The car really isn't worth repainting, but the hood looks especially bad with the peeling. So I removed the hood, and sanded it with 320grit wet and dry. I put up some drop clothes to make a makeshift paint booth. I got some color matched base color and clear coat from an internet supplier, in rattle cans. I will prime it, finish sand and then put on base coat, followed by the clear coat. I don't expect a great color match, but it should pass the 50 foot inspection. I will post a photo when I am finished.

The hood before:

How well does your HVLP do going through that little yellow coil hose?

As far as what I did... right outside the garage: we had issues with birds building nests on some of the window ledges on the back porch. The birds showed up earlier this week and started rebuilding their nests. We went out there, cleaned them off, and then put up bird spikes to keep them building there.

I don't mind them building around the shop so much, but the smell of the bird poo would come into the house every time you opened the back door and they'd swoop down at my wife while she was trying to read on the back porch.

New front tires for the mower. One down - one to go.
Be glad they're fronts. I bought 20 inch rears for my Toro zero turn yesterday. I was way off on my guess at the cost. With tax and mounting it cost me over $180! I'm glad the first set made it over 10 years. I can buy some speed rated car radials for that.

Saw this in Austin a few years ago.

I have not used it yet to shoot anything. I’m using the yellow coil to jump off the wall connector to the regulator/dryer. I’ll likely use the orange hose on the bench for the hvlp off the connector at the end of the bench. I have yet another smaller regulator that sits directly on my hvlp gun to knock the pressure even lower. i do not believe the coil will be an issue.

We, the Nadogail Family, went to a wedding today my Barber married the guy she has been living with for about a year. She wore a Virginal White Gown with a long dragging train. The hall used to be a warehouse store, it has been well cleaned and was nicely painted. The dinner was minimal. The chairs for the guests were very thinly padded wooden folding chairs. The acoustics were what you would expect from a warehouse, and the quality of the sound was "Muddy" none of the guests I asked could understand what was being said. The Officiant did his best and I was able to understand 50% of what he was saying.

I thanked the Bride for inviting us.

Doug, the issue isn't knocking the pressure down, it's knocking the volume down that hurts. Think of it like filling a pool with a 1/4-inch hose and low pressure. A tiny dribble of water will take forever to fill the pool. If you feed the water through a 1/2-inch hose at the same low pressure, the pool will fill much faster. If you have some way to connect your High Volume Low Pressure gun to the compressor with a bigger (at least 3/8") air line and high flow fittings (Milton V-Style) the gun will perform much better. If you use the smaller hose and small fittings, the gun will spray poorly until you crank the pressure way up. Here's a chart from Milton Industries that shows the different flow ratings. The typical A-Style fitting flows 34 SCFM compared to the V-Style fitting's 74 SCFM.

Thanks for this. I did not realize the negative impact that coil will produce. I will look into a 1/2” short jumper h off the wall to the regulator. I had the coil laying in a cabinet and wanted to use it.

Our garage is constantly changing as our family's needs change. It's a 23x25 that really needs to be a 36x48! But I just can't stomach paying covid prices for an addition, so I will continue to find ways to pack 10lbs of **** into a 5lb bag.

With that being said, I removed an under utilized wall hanging cabinet, and relocated extension cords and broom/dust pan/squeegee to a different area, and hung the kids bikes on the wall (which were previously store on the floor). Yeah...they will have to ask for help getting them down, but for now that will have to work.

I will admit that I have a lot of stuff, but having ADD means I have a lot of interests! We will just leave it at that!

Kay you turn a lot of pens, what do you do with all of them?
Sell them. They have pretty shiny ends n middles, that attract the eye. Drawing the customer to check out the other **** at the booth. I enjoy making things, and luckily enough what I sell, mostly, supports my idiocy. I'll never get rich. But then the idea is to have fun and not lose my shirt.

Bob did a lot better of job of explaining my concern :)

I had a similar air flow issue when I was running a smaller hose to my HVLP. My hose was 25' long, so wasn't sure if the shorter smaller hose would hurt or not.

I only use the one regulator at the tank. I set it for a few PSI below the turn-on PSI of the compressor. Then I use another regulator at the gun for final PSI. But my setup isn't nearly as industrious as yours. I just run the one 50' 3/8" hose from the compressor to where I'm spraying.

If I ever get around to adding a loop to the shop with drops, I'll probably use a second regulator closer to where I spray for doing something similar as you.
