A couple of Stanley striking tools, Ridgid Aluminum 14", and a couple of Blackhawk Ratchets. An almost complete S-K 1/4" Ratchet Set. One socket and the long extension are EASCO and the universal is Snap-on. It lacks the Spinner Handle and it all cost less than $15.50.

^ I would exclude "medical instrument" as being a possibility. A two-piece composite handle would not lend itself well to being sterilized.

Some screws have square openings, but that is more common on older screws. It seems like now most screws are hex or star(torx). I am pretty sure that “acorn” is the Synthes logo, a company that makes ortho and spine hardware. This is one I have that’s hex. I saved it from going into the trash at work after it got kind of worn out and replaced

I had thought I would have something to post last week, when I was in Lancaster PA, but my intentions were snowed out.
Today, with temps climbing toward 70°, I headed to a nearby small town with a firehall flea sale. $9 brought home a Bonney file holder sans turnbuckle & 16oz ballpein, 1/2sq Hinsdale extension & 2 sockets, 1945 SO 3/8dr uni socket, 1/2dr Plvmb socket, C’man socket, sm Barcalo doe, and a mix of Indestro Super & various Asian 1/4dr sockets, which I bought for the unmarked spinner handle.

Herbrand 3/4" sockets - All from the free pile. I have no idea what to do with them but grabbed them anyway. Lot a various garage chemicals for about $.50/ea.

Echoing this. The lantern looks pristine, and with a box, and some silk lite mantles - those are worth more as well as they no longer us e Thorium for the material that makes them glow white. (the new stuff burns yellowish...)

Almost a rain out - but the HS Flea had maybe 20-30 vendors. (This parking lot has a lot of solar panels so the smarter sellers setup out of direct rain -Not every seller was thinking...) I found a few things.
P&C Chisel, and a not quiet no name pair of dykes, but I can't hardly make out the marking - they may be laser or acid etched?) The Nail is a date stamp mail for '59. Jon-e Hand warmer - looks like it was used once - dated 73. And my big buy - the Western knife. I've been chasing one of these for at least 15 years, and they go for a lot on Eprey. I got it for $50, -more than I've paid for a single item in the wild in a long time. Its not my favorite blade style, but it has the cool grip.
I thought I had the hatchet, but its not quite the same, and has the leather rings...

That short spinner really resembles my slightly disintegrating Blue Point 9/32” drive spinner. I recently gave it the username recommended clear coat Krylon in an effort to slow down the disintegration.

I went out for a few hours while my mom watched the kids, it was kind of nice as I didn't go to any pro sales and therefore didn't pay any pro prices...
The first stop I was surprised to find a few bits hanging around in a pretty empty garage...left behind a giant cleaver that I am kind of regretting. The guy said the PO was a dairy farmer.
Was pleasantly surprised to see this 2015A circle X sitting there, also grabbed the VLChek DOE, was hoping the spinner might be SK but it's trashed and I can't find any markings yet. Also grabbed some sockets, Duro Chrome, D-I, and SK. Finally a BP head, no markings that I can see yet. $2.
Next stop had a big Mac roller in the pics and since it wasn't a pro sale I had some hopes for that one. When I got there I saw it in the driveway and was disappointed to find out that someone had just bought it part and parcel, along with a Waterloo stack. Then he turned them both on end without pulling any tools out to get them in his truck! Hope he can get the drawers open...
There was one rusty old hand box over on the side that had a few rusty bits...would sure have liked to see what was in that Mac roller! Anyway, $4 for this: Top two wrenches are both Duro Chrome, they're really thin and one has a circle X but the other doesn't...tappet wrenches maybe? The little offset DBE is also Duro Chrome, marked G 2042. The other DBE is a Proto MFD 8162 (I think), dunno why I grabbed two Vlchek W1620s instead of just one, the rusty combo is also Vlchek, then there's a little New Britain ignition wrench and a Blue Point OEX-16. Also grabbed a little Bell System box.
Next sale I went to because they advertised a Craftsman stack but no pics...as luck would have it right as I got there and was getting ready to rifle through the thing, another guy came out of the house and announced that he'd bought the whole thing...dammit! 0 fer 2.
Final stop I had pretty high hopes for as they had a huge shop in the pics, when I got there I was initially disappointed as they had pretty ridiculous prices on everything. For a few minutes I thought I'd leave empty handed, but then I saw a couple boxes of sockets priced cheaply, and also a few drawers full of wrenches. I ended up digging for quite a while, and left with this stuff. I think I spent around $40, half of which is in the ratchets and extensions. The wrenches averaged less than a buck each and the sockets were all .50. Turns out they had all the cheap stuff priced high and vise versa!

We decided at the last minute to check out an estate sale about 15 minutes away from home less than an hour before closing time. I’m glad we made the effort because there were a few interesting tools left. I averted my eyes from the nice white gas two burner Coleman stove and lantern as I have successfully given all of my old ones away to friends. It was spitting a little rain when we got home but nothing too irritating.

I see the resemblance, Don.
This one has no markings anywhere. 8 flutes. Definitely 1/4dr. 3-1/2” OAL and 3/4” diameter.
Nondescript detent ball setting; cad plated, I think.
Apparently only for afternoon work.

Dang, too many things going on today (I also am involved with a Sort/Clean-out/Move-prep/Living estate sale prep last Sunday and today at my Moms...), and I near forgot this odd Lantern I got at the Flea - I'm thinking a Bullseye, Inspection Lantern? clear lens - missing swinging cover. reflector (the screw was busted off, - lucky the reflector is still accounted for...), and he burner itself... Not sure what the hinged thing is for on top?

I've only been able to make out a "41" in the pivot pin, a "USA" under thst, adn nothing else - 4" and maybe 1/4" more in length.
Thanks on the knife! (everyone!) I wish it had the "Westmark" branding stamped. That is the easy way to find them on Eprey.
Picked more yesterday but this is the coolest thing.

Got a few smalls at a really old garage yesterday.
The Defiance Stanley tape measure makes this cartoony "clack-clack" noise when you pull out the tape. Busted BlackHawk socket but logo is cool. And most peculiar socket I've ever found is an Indestro valve grinding adapter. There are screws on both sides and you adjust the width of the two points.

Today is what I'd consider a fantastic flea market day. The wife agreed to come with and she never does, in fact she hates flea markets, or going with me at least.
Very sunny and hot, we got there real late maybe 11 and the place was poppin'. She only ditched me a few times as I stopped to dig through tools. I believe she brought me good luck because it was a great day for antique and vintage. Maybe people weren't looking as much with the heat.
She found herself some plants and we also had some good quesadillas there afterward.

Need some help on this screw starter looking device. Looks familiar. It folds up, stamped made in USA. Grabbed it for a buck.

Cobblers tool, alumin jug, cast iron tongs of some sort, 2 what I hope are glass bits, red handled file, and an interesting Spintype (I checked the stamp - TYPE) 1/2" socket tool,never seen one before and more soldering irons.
And more dividers, a metal Craftsman try square and a nice Starret micrometer with all the goodies !.
Hit a new flea market Sunday and pick up 4 wood levels, 2 ornate vintage boxes, letter and number metal stamp sets and a cool tin can. Has a label from the kitchen dept in Meekins, Packard and Wheat. Very cool ! Meekins, Packard and Wheat was a dept store in Springfield, Massachusetts.
If you remember I bought a Richards- Wilcox wood vise the other week that was missing the quick release... I came across another one this weekend and bought it right away. Of course when I got it home I looked closer and found several welds...

That resembles a "bear jaw" multitool that my dad has. I think those were sold on the MAC trucks. I bet a pair of pliers from a leatherman would work....Today I focused on cleaning up a few of the items from yesterday’s haul.
It is definitely a Starrett. Cleaned it up a lil bit.
It would be a nice piece but...it was in the woman’s scrap bucket. I had it in the Evaporust just to get the blades freed up. I think I used to see them in the store along with the pocket knives. It would be nice to find a replacement plier head.
