What did you do "IN" your garage today?

So far?

When I first moved in, back in 2019, I put the propane grill in the garage temporarily. 2 years later, I finally got around to pulling it out, and putting it on the back porch. Finally pulled the cover off the grill that was left here. It’s fairly decent actually. I might just use it!

Now that the grill is no longer against the wall, I moved the 3 engines on stands along that wall, and covered them with black bags. Dunno why. They’ve set open for 2 years lol.

Did all that, so I can start working on my 72 D100 shorty this spring/summer. It’s an EARLY 72, so even though 72-80 tail lights FIT, they actually use a 1 year only tail light. The pattern in the reverse area is different (lines for 72.5+, stars for early 72). So I got the correct lenses and buckets installed on the 72. They’re supposed to be NOS. The screw holes have no threads in the plastic, so I believe it!

Then took the lenses that WERE on it, and put them on the 73 parts truck. It’s not a parts truck per se, as it’s getting rebuilt from a d series to a w series.

We are expecting rain in the near future forecast. So I brought some more stuff from the trailer/trunk of the Lincoln and piled it on my work bench. This all left the garage a HUGE mess, but it’ll keep me occupied during the rainy days ahead.

I have some other stuff to attend to. Maybe I’ll get some more stuff done in the garage later, dunno lol. I’ll try!

I only use the one regulator at the tank. I set it for a few PSI below the turn-on PSI of the compressor. Then I use another regulator at the gun for final PSI.
@niget2002, that's the best way to run a HVLP gun. If the hose is filled with 120 PSI air and you regulate it down to 25 PSI at the gun, the volume will be there. For spraying paint and running die grinders and sanders, I have a 50-foot 1/2" Flexzilla hose on a Harbor Freight reel. Instead of connecting the regulator directly to the gun, I made a clip to hang it on my belt with a short 1/2" whip from the regulator to the gun.
Spray Gun Belt Clip 8.jpg
The regulator and hose reel donut add a significant weight when they are attached to the gun. This photo shows the touch-up gun with a small cup. Spraying paint with a full size gun with a 1000 ml cup full of paint can tire me out pretty quick so any extra weight off my wrist is welcome. All the couplers and plugs are V-style 1/4-inch to match the regulator and gun fittings. Most of the time I use the DeVilbiss DeCups system so I can paint with the gun right side up or upside down.
Spray Gun Belt Clip 7.jpg
Flexzilla hose is pretty light and flexible and it turns out the outer diameter of a 1/2-inch Flexzilla is real close to the outside diameter of a 3/8-inch rubber air hose. I put the larger ID, same length hose on the HF reel when the original rubber hose started cracking. I often use multiple air tools so I made another 1/2-inch whip with a triple plug on the end.

I also use cheap HF whips on all the air tools so I'm not working with the donut right next to the tool.

I'm using the 3m PPS cups on a Devilbliss DV1 with the built-in regulator. I'm a fan of the 'buy once, cry once' when it comes to some tools. I do like the belt clip with the over-shoulder loop to take the weight of the hose off your wrist. I might have to figure out something similar. I typically hold the hose with my left hand while spraying with my right.

i'm only painting motorcycle parts and I have them on lazy susans so I can spin the parts for painting both sides. I don't have to do a lot of walking for most of my painting :)

Well, yesterday went as planned BUT, before I left for mom's I had to change the right front tire on the T-bird, and after I was done, I left the dang lock key on the lug nut! Then went to get gas (2 miles away otherwise its WAY more expensive..) - Yeah it was gone...
I walked my end of the street 2X
I walked my street, a connecting street, and the main street to the first intersection. No sign
Walked home; DROVE the whole way to the gas station. at 10 MPH (E blinkers on...) Nada...

Came home and left for mom's.
Came home too beat to deal with it

Today I felt better and since I was up for my "Morning Break Walk" I walked a mile and a half of the route and didn't see it

On the way back I used the opposite side crosswalks in case it was Flung, or bounced. Last stretch of crosswalk, almost in the crosswalk there it was! O-Ring was gone and clearly ran over a few times, but I FOUND IT! :wtf: Almost a half mile and the driveway left turn, and two more right turns away! I don't know how far run-overs moved it, but it's position was about where I stopped before turning Left... :dunno:

Did the wheel cleaning inside and outside on the family car. Also did a rotate and then reset the tpms correctly. When I got the new tires the tire shop apparently forgot to reset them right. The left front was reading the right front the right front was actually on the left rear and so on. Well not they all read correctly now.

I used the table saw and chop saw you cut boards for my basement. I'm building a box to hide duct work. I had to change the blade on the table saw. It got interesting!

New Rule: Even if the used saw comes with a new blade, make the seller remove it or show you it can be removed. I was one step away from getting the torch. It was way too tight. 🙄

Rebuild the carb on the backpack blower, a rebuild kit, ultrasonic for the carb and spark arrestor screen. And we are back up and operational!

Table saws are setup to cause the nut to tighten as the blade is spun. It never fails that it always seems like it takes 'way' too much leverage to get mine to come loose.

Now that it finally rained good and washed the salt off the roads (hopefully for the last time this season!), I took the cougar out of storage mode, washed it up, and it's ready to go for spring.

Mostly cleaned up and put stuff away. Then mowed & edged the front lawn. Fed everything MiracleGro.

Cut this 2x6, sanded/cleared & glued/screwed a small piece to mount my grinder so I can chuck it into my vice when I polish.

Processed the last batch of pen blanks. No more pen guts left. Put some warmth on them to hurry up the cure. Made up fresh batches of dye. Trimmed, reamed, turned, sanded, dyed, burnished, polished, n assembled the pens. Made new dye batches. Cleaned n organized.
Here some of the last batch.

Thanks! I am still working on the basement, but I will not have another video on it for a while. I just started boxing in an exposed heater duct and purchased a slab door to install as a pocket slider. Since it is a low ceiling basement I will have to get creative on my ceiling. I hope to do a similar video format as the last with less detail and more of an overview. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

Another Late one. But if you haven't turned the clock ahead yet, it's not as Late. But loosing an hour sleep every night is taking its toll.

First driver into shop was my TD Jabbit. Yeah Jabbit, half Jetta half rabbit with 1.6L turbo diesel engine. First time its been back on the lift since I built it 1.5yrs ago. Not many miles but neglected none the less. Found a FEW things wrong but most are getting ignored for now.
New WP leaking. And lower rad hose was darn near worn through, to the inner rubber layer... Thin.
Also went through all the essential bolts on the car since it was a complete rebuild. Found the rear bracket on the RF control arm needed a snug up.
Oil/filter changed, fuel filter...
Good for another 18 months.

Washed the toad. (Washed the Jeep too but didn't take a picture) Then I got it smogged. The toad may not be the toad soon as I am getting the Gladiator set up to be a toad for a 500 mile round trip shake down later this month. We'll see how the Class C RV does towing it. Should be fine everywhere but maybe on the Grapevine. While I was out got a lunch special chicken parmigiana w/spaghetti & marinara. All in all a fairly easy day.

I've seen a whole herd of different taillight options on that body style, don't know about specific year, including one that was bumper mounted. Maybe the owner couldn't make up their mind? Enjoy getting it even-ish.

I lifted the new drill press onto the welding table. I don't think it will stay on the table. It was a quick move to get one less thing off the floor. I installed a few weld fixturing clamps to discourage it from tipping over. I really like this mobile weld table. It comes in handy for several different tasks.

Survived another session of Cardiac Rehab, today I did not feel the need to take a nap when I got home; this evening I am regretting not taking that nap. The Exercise Physiologist was explaining how the effort I was putting in was graded in the moderate effort category of the scale.
I asked if the scale was weighted to compensate for the age of the person being evaluated? She said No; I told her I wanted a handicap for being almost 83; there is no way I can compete with a 21 year old.

Rear fenders may not be US spec. The lights soule be at top hip curve in fender. Curve complicates things.
Car also has NOS Bumpers and used towel bars. Haven't looked but bumps may not be drilled for the bars.
It'll be Fun, I'm sure there will be some things I do 3X because improper assembly order.

Worked on cleaning up the very dirty, but new to me Snap On KRL1022 I just bought. Why people are so lazy, I'm not quite sure. But please know if you are that lazy, you are getting a below the belt offer.

Looking forward to the added space over my Classic 78.

Emptied the garbage and loaded it into the Cummins for a dump run.

Still have some more unpacking to do, which is going to create more trash.

At this point, I’m just trying to get rid of the big ticket items (mattress, huge plastic kids chalkboard A frame thing, etc). Once the big ticket items are gone, I’m just gonna get trash service.

Right now, I pay $20/load to make a dump run myself plus fuel and time. Trash service is $30/month for weekly pick up. Granted I can take a LOT more per trip in the truck. This trip was only 480lbs though. Nowhere near the cap of 1000lbs. And I was LOADED!

Oofta.

Met with the electrician today. He is going to start on Monday to run the electric line from my electrical panel in the basement of the house to the new garage, install a sub panel in the garage, run lines to the outlets & to boxes where the light fixtures will be, & the 240V outlet for the air compressor & my welder.
