made a roll-towel rack and imposed some order on my PPE cabinet. Still making small steps in building out my workshop space, 15mos after we moved in.

Managed to clear some working room on the adjacent 'hobby' bench, preparing to do some reloading.

Added some lights to the paint booth. Hope to start spraying paint this weekend.

I wish the lights were a little brighter, but this will do for now. I've seen people strap head lamps to their spray gun. I may consider trying that if I need more light. I have a few of the head lamps laying around from camping trips.

Lights off:

Since it’s our first Spring/Summer in the new place, and we needed a way to contain our paraplegic Frenchie on the grass when shes not needed to have her diaper on. I started building raised flower garden boxes.

tomorrow I will tackle the other 14’+ Before saloon style gates.BB00FCB4-D807-447F-9A77-3FE109677156.jpeg

Replaced the F40-T12 fixtures in the workshop with LED modules. We removed the old fixtures and installed plastic boxes and plastic lamp holders, the LED modules screwed in like just changing a lightbulb. The improvement in the lighting was worth the effort.

Yesterday I swapped out the blade on the table saw. I went from a 60T blade to a 40T. It rips much better now, but also wants to make you eat the boards too. Good news is it wasn't a nightmare to remove the blade this time!

Caught up with my Jeopardy calendar. Fiddled a bit with my IoT project. Installed the CBN wheel on the sharpening grinder. Modified the wheel guard to fit the new wheel. Sharpened a bunch of dull tools. Put away a bunch of stuff. Hunted for a missing die.

Just got back from picking up this beauty. Decided to take the Cummins as a test drive after the VP44 install and the FASS install. Seems peppier for sure. I didn’t realize how much fuel pressure affects performance. Some sources say down to 5psi minimum for the VP to be happy. Some say above 14psi. I was runnin about 15psi, then pull down to 5-6psi under load.
Now she’s at 17psi at idle, down to 15-16psi under load.

As far as the mower, just got her home. I know absolutely NOTHING about it besides what you see in the pics. Cranks, doesn’t start. But the price was right! FREE fifty lol. I figure if it costs me <$200 to get her goin, I’ll be good. I’m only expecting a season or so out of her TBH. This is gonna be the rough cut mower. I still have a good portion of the property that hasn’t been knocked down, as my brother needed his mower back.

Wish me luck! Lol

Glider, that's a nicely cleaned block, it wouldn't fit in my carburetor size ultrasonic cleaner. 40+ years ago when I worked at a aircraft engine manufacturer I used their vapor de-greaser to clean some transmission parts for my truck, they came out like that. Hot Trichloroethylene fumes did wonders for cleaning parts back in the day.

Reloading. Working on a big batch of .223 and .300 Black. First big effort in 3yrs, first since we moved States.

Peacock was copping a squat on top of my Sub when I opened the garage door. Damned bird.

Nice work on the wheels! What is your process for getting them this clean?
Thanks. These wheels have always been maintained since new so it's really not hard to keep them clean. All I have to do is remove them from the car every three months or so, spray the Turtlewax Tire and Wheel cleaner, let it soak for 10-15 secs, scrub with the wheel brushes and hose it down. I use the electric leaf blower to get most the water off, dry with a microfiber towel and finally I'll apply a coat of some sort of an easy/spray-on ceramic or brake dust repellent.

Got the new to me mower squeezed into the garage. Yes through that skinny opening lol.

Precursory inspection shows oil leak somewhere on the engine (trail looks like it’s coming from the oil fill?), flat tire, broken spindle on the deck, and missing key. I have not tried anything with it. Once again, my back is yelling at me. So I had to call it quits after finagling it in there.

I’m thinking that the spindle broke, then they stopped using it, so it sat. Maybe a carb clean and an ignition tune up, and she will run.
Gonna track down a spindle before I go any farther. No sense in doing anything else if a spindle cannot be sourced. I could swap decks, but I am REALLY just wanting this for rough cuts/overgrown ****/walnut duty lol. I’m not trying to put $$$$ into it lol

That looks a lot like my Craftsman (husqvarna) mower from 2011. 46" cut, 21 HP single cyl Briggs Intek. Has worked great on the flat acre it mows. Blown a couple head gaskets but it is a Briggs engine. If it is a husky a spindle will be no problem. The last ones I got from Amazon have been great. I think the grease zerk on these is the key.

Got the replacement passenger fender installed and got the front end buttoned up

78601716-531B-4ABA-BD7D-F29E9E6C2471.jpeg

And then immediately started tearing into the engine bay. Removed the intake manifold, fuel rail, and exhaust manifold. 2 issues. 1, cracked exhaust manifold, and 2, valve cover gasket is leaking. So much so, that it appears to have soaked into the exhaust manifold gasket. I have to clean that mess off tomorrow, and pull the valve cover.

And, the culprit of the awful sounding exhaust. Crack at the collector on the manifold. Amazing how much racket a tiny crack can make.
