So I was looking at the Gladiator cabinets for my garage. I like the black with the diamond plate but it is going to be a hard sell to the wife and myself to spend $200-300 a cabinet. Are they worth it, is there a difference between the standard and premium? Is there other brands like them that are just as good? I need like 5 and it not the best time to spend $1000 + for them but trying to set up the garage and organize. Should I hold off and save up or look at other option

I have two wall cabinets and two full length floor standing. I think they are worth it. But you could do wooden builder grade cabinets for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. You wouldn't have the look or the load capability. Every time I've heard off on solving a garage storage problem, I've regretted not doing it sooner. If money is a leading issue, look for another option.

Like my 30” Gladiator wall cabinets. Welded square steel boxes and strong for shop supplies. When Sears was still around they were routinely on sale for $99 each and the kit included the hanging hardware. Bought ten of them and have them in the garage and basement. The tread texture is nice but the big CON is the finish which is easily discolored or damaged from sprays or cleaners. I would definitely buy them again @9912A9F414-35E3-46A0-99EA-7F1CB96D89D6.jpeg

I have the Gladiator Premier (welded) 30" X 30" X 12" cabinets. I bought most of them at Sears a few years ago. I hung them using Tapcons and a ledger 1" X 2" beneath them. The Tapcons I used flat washers in the 4 inside corners, you could hang off them, they aren't budging. I also got a Craftsman 8' steel workbench, I ripped a piece of 3/4" 4' x 8' plywood, then glued & screwed it together to make a 1-1/2" X 24" top, and I covered it with 3/16" steel sheet. Under that I put three Craftsman roller 26" W cabinets, two are drawers, one is side-hinged doors. This is all in a 2-car garage. Next to the workbench is another Craftsman 26" steel roller w/side-hinged doors, and a Husky 9 drawer toolchest 26" X 18" I got a deal on from one of the alert posts on-here about it, a great deal. On the other side of the garage side door is a Kobalt 30" W X 24" D X 70" H steel shelved cabinet. I picked it up from Habitat for Humanity for cheap, it appears to have very little use.

I have a bit of a mix, the Gladiator cabinets are great, a good value, strong, and durable. The Sears workbench and the 26" roller cabinets were all new, The Husky 9-drawer new, the only one used was the Kobalt 30" X 70" H and you wouldn't know it.

Keep your eye open for the pieces as they will go on-sale.

I also have the Gladiator wire shelf surface/steel frame shelving, 2,000 lbs a shelf rated, 8' W X ~6' L. I have those down nearly one entire side of the garage. They are great, strong and useful. I have hundreds of pounds on many of the shelves, heavier loads on the bottom shelves, and I spaced the first shelf off the floor so I could store heavy, bulky things underneath, like a cherry-picker disassembled, and other heavy items.

I narrowed the Gladiator shelving depth to fit my garage OH door wall returns, I was gonna weld them after cutting, and after pondering the job, I decided to use PT lumber and square-dimension aluminum tubing, to hold the shelves together. They're still fully-adjustable for spacing from one-another. The french cleat type boards for the Gladiator Premier wall cabinets, I used to hang tools on the wall above the 8' workbench. The chargers are on the wall there, freeing up countertop surface space.

For the home hobbyist, I like them and have owned many of them in my home. If you're in a commercial/industrial/business setting, you definitely need something better built/thicker gage/more expensive.

I was over at my adult son's home, and while in the garage, I saw something I'd forgotten. He has 5 Gladiator workbenches, made of square steel stock, adjustable for height, and room for a shelf underneath. They are stable, sturdy, and well-finished. The top is something like 2" solid hardwood. https://www.gladiatorgarageworks.co...4GU28FicgB5qVIiKnc2SF8q4oqtFNf_caAjDqEALw_wcB

They are available in different lengths.

I have 3 of the wall cabs pictured above. Only complaint is the silver paint on the doors is not chemical resistant. Don't try to clean them with anything but mild soap/water or inadvertently spray something like carb cleaner on them (yes, I'm guilty).

I would include human skin oils, bug spray and whatever you last touched in the garage. Heck stare at them too long and the paint defects start to appear. Otherwise the Premier 30" welded square cabinets are solid and work great to store shop supplies. Wish they were a bit deeper. I also have three of the large lockers which also come fully welded one-piece which I prefer over the bolt-together versions.144B229E-9FFA-4A00-A170-141686A78F2A.jpeg

The premium 30” welded wall cabinets at 99$ during the era periodic Sears sales were a no brainer. Even then you couldn’t get anything even remotely as well made in the new market. At 300$ A piece I think there are other options to consider although I admittedly have not priced out the competing products lately. The used market is great for finding bargains on shop storage but it requires a lot of time spent hunting.

I have 3 of the upper wall cabinets and 1 floor cabinet with a drawer and two doors that slides under their workbench. As mentioned in an above post, the workbench is great. It's solid, adjustable legs and hardwood top, The cabinets are nice and I really like the workbench. I purchased all of them at Lowes when they were on sale a few years ago. I used their cleats to mount the wall units. I placed a 1 x 2 to secure and level the bottom as the cleats hold the cabinet about and inch from the wall.
