Lift wiring

I'm in the midst of finishing a garage build and the rotary 2-post lift was installed yesterday. When the electrician pre-ran the wire a few months ago, he put in 30amp double pole wired using 10/3 w/ ground. I noticed that the lift motor is only a 2 wire hook-up (black hot, white common). What are my options here? I imagine it's as simple as not using the red hot wire and switching out the breaker. Am I correct?

Use black and red, cap the white. The motor clearly says 240 volt so you need the double pole breaker

Thanks....I was expecting to see three wires (red, black, white) when the lift's switch plate was taken off. Learned something new today.

Color doesn't matter, use the 2 hots that are landed on the breaker that's installed. That black and white at the motor are both hots.

Yeah I have my neutral also capped off, you could run it down to an outlet on the lift and use one of the hots.
