I am planning the build for a TV tray and am looking for ideas to bolt together the legs at the pivot point. What do you fine folks suggest?

Picture is for example sake….8742E05F-BB4C-4A8B-A9F3-E3C8C57E1881.jpeg

"***" bolts were the first thing I thought of too. It's good to know there is another name for them, the last time I asked for them at Menard's the kid looked at me like I was crazy. I just did a search for them on Menard's web site and they have something similar they call "Midwest" fasteners.

I wouldn't use a bolt and lock nut as you will have it protruding into the area where you place your legs.

I'd probably go for the *** bolt idea, or maybe a t nut on the inside with a recessed bolt from the outside. Drill out the outside leg so it can rotate around the bolt and loctite the bolt into the t nut

This is what you need. It's called a roto-hinge. Available from Rockler in several sizes.IMG_1098.JPG

All great ideas, I suggested the *** bolt to my wife and she said she had a headache…

I like the root-hinge idea and just ordered some! If the TV tray turns out presentable I will share some pictures!

Thanks!
