Just ordered these 3 sets of Wiha screw drivers from the site. There is a fantastic sale on both USA, and the Canadian side . . .

As always the prices even when on sale on the Canadian side leaves one wanting!

To my surprise the USA side takes orders not in country, so I placed my order with them and saved: $137.43

The same set on the Canadian side is $281.36 with tax, but no shipping so it will be more still! :(

American side all in shipped, for a smokin price of $143.93! :bounce: :shocking:

So what do we have here? One set of 35894 four piece #0, 1, 2, 3 Roberston
another set of 30292 six piece ESD Safe 3.0, 4.0, 5.5 slotted / standard, #0, 1, 2 Phillips.

Last but not least we have a 53398 eight piece Extra Heavy Duty micro finish with hex shank, and metal striking cap for a standard / phillips heads . . .

Next week will be driver **** for the Teken household!

I think the reference is to the recent revelation that Wiha has started outsourcing their tools to Viet Nam...

...there was a thread on this recently...

they are probably better in europe? But moving the pliers to Vietnam doesn't look good... Most of my beef is probably due to management here in the states by that private dealer that somehow has the right to slap the WIHA name on anything they want to import from all over the globe and pretend its a WIHA tool. The topic has been hit pretty hard in a few other threads, I'm just moody when it comes to such things. Kinda like Knipex moving into Lowes. My general rule of thumb now rules them out of my future purchases, nothing tool in a big box stuffmart is something I want. It won't be long and Knipex will be forging pliers in Vietnam, or Turkey or God knows where to meet price points that stuffmarts want them to reach.

The recent pliers I just bought the other day have "Swiss Made" on them. They are equal, if not BETTER, than the Knipex I already own.

Explain again why Wiha isn't good anymore?

I've had better deals on ebay TBH.

Trust me I looked, and waited . . . None of the vendors on line had the 3 styles I wanted or had the price point I wanted to see.

The one's that had a great price, compensated by charging over inflated shipping prices!

One **** knocker wanted $45.00 just for a 4 piece set of screw drivers! :wtf: :shocking: How much do screw drives weigh?? :headscrat

Stupid knob aszz . . . :spit:

Ordering straight from the factory is a no brainer, no BS, and guaranteed products! :)

If I don't get my Wiha tools from the factory, I get them from mjmnational at eBay. He gives me 33% off list prices, which isn't that bad. True, there will be better deals from time to time at Wiha's web site, but if you can't wait, mjmnational has very good prices. Plus, you can order anything Wiha makes from him and he'll give you the same deal.

Also, check out http://www.micro-tools.com/store/home.aspx because their prices aren't too bad, either. Though, there supply of Wiha tools is ver limited.

That's where I bought my set of Wiha precision drivers...$60 for a 24 piece set of top-notched precision drivers is hard to beat.

I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bath water just yet. Yeah, I get it that Vietnam is a loooong way from Germany where we're used seeing Wiha tools made but, there is probably a good amount of German made Wiha still out there to be had.
On a different note, those heavy duty microfinish screwdrivers are real handle heavy with the striking cap. Enjoy you purchases!! I am surprised that you didn't buy Armstrong screwdrivers though.:wtf:

I knew that going into the purchase. This was the most logical step in between using a impact screw driver. Now I won't have to carry the impact, as this set is designed to be struck, and turned with a hex. :)

I already own a partial set . . . The other one's are coming next month from GA!

The Wiha in all honesty were purchased because they are by default more human ergonomic and proven . . .

The Armstrong are great performers in their own right, but their purchase was to round out the missing sets in the cabinet . . .

This time next month I will have the Armstrong Master Set in both Metric and SAE at home! :bounce:   :)

This doesn't read correctly.

Metric screwdrivers?:lol_hitti

I should have been more specific, opposed to generalizing . . . This time next month I shall have an entire Armstrong Master Tool Set in both Metric / SAE at home . . . :bounce:   :lol_hitti

Not metric / sae Wiha screw drivers . . . :spit: :)

But, this time next month these shall be coming to the Teken hous hold: A 7 piece ball torx, and a 11 piece standard torx set . . . Slowly but surely the screw driver **** shall be born! :lol_hitti

I've used this seller as well.

The only better I found was the mini-drivers for electrical work from MSC on sale with the 35% discount and free shipping. They came out to incredibly cheap per piece. I haven't seen that price sense.

First of all, wiha USA is not slapping a wiha logo on whatever they want, if you look on the german website, they list vietnam as a locatin for forging. BUT, it is STILL wiha... and still great quality. bar none.
some products are made by wiha solely for wiha USA, for example, the inch sizes are not used over seas so they only show metric on the German site. Wiha USA does not "slap WIHA's name" on things by themselves, it is all sent overseas from Germany with the wihatools.com logo. which makes sense because WIHA USA IS WIHA....

wiha as a whole has been growing exponentially which can explain why they are moving some operations. wiha usa has been up over 30% in sales this year. no american tool company can say that.. (correct me if im wrong)

personally I have a set of german made wiha pliers, as well as the new vietnam models, and i would actually go out on a limb and say that side by side the new ones look better, and are just as good if not better than the other ones.

Dennis the menace: those pliers say switzerland because the wiha plant in switzerand is where they mold the handles, and i beleive they might do chrome plating there too.

I was under the impression from several sources that WIHATools.com is a private dealer that also happens to be the exclusive US importer. Never see any other manufacturers compete with their distributor base. And their site never lines up with the real wiha which has different versions for england and several other countries.

I don't see the chisels, punches, wrenches, Heyco socket line, a line of swedish crimping tools, that corny chinese neck light and who knows what else in the German site. US stock is always a decade behind what it shows at WIHA.de like they get a good deal on all the closeout stuff and thats all we can get here in the states. Whats with the cheapo inomic pliers this side of the atlantic?:headscrat

The Inomic Long Nose Pliers I just got do say, "Made In Germany" on them. And, they're not 'cheap' by any stretch of your imagination. I couldn't be happier with them. They just blow me away!

As far as what you said about wihatools.com, you don't suppose it's a new venture for Wiha to stretch their customer base? Why would they include their entire line from the start? I think you should expect the website to grow in the coming months.

They have been there at wihatools.com for many many many years why would it suddenly boom? Its been the same hokey thing since WIHA was imported across the highway by Bondhus corp. After somekind of tiff they broke apart and set up shop across the street and now bondhus is the exclusive importer of FELO screwdrivers... at least they are up front about that and don't pretend to be Felo USA.

As for the inomics, just don't look at wiha.de to see what they have looked like in Europe for the last 3 or 4 years.

I'm just a bitter old grump that needs to complain about something :) I'm pretty opinionated and when a business does something I don't like I make noise, its just me. A strong believer in free markets and voting with my wallet. Both Knipex and WIHA have lost my vote over the past few months.

Happy with knipex coming out of the closet and putting little tags that show the last strippers I bought were from taiwan, and the cable cutters from japan, there used to be just no statement on all the items not made in germany, now at least its on a sticker that you throw away on the packaging... The real problem is the entry into stuffmarts, it always ends in compramizes.

They have been there at wihatools.com for many many many years why would it suddenly boom?

Wiha tools are becoming more well known. They are being discovered by new customers, such as myself. They are known for having excellent quality at a fair price. I see Wiha Tools and the USA website booming in sales and the demand by customers for new and different products over the next year.

Its been the same hokey thing since WIHA was imported across the highway by Bondhus corp. After somekind of tiff they broke apart and set up shop across the street and now bondhus is the exclusive importer of FELO screwdrivers... at least they are up front about that and don't pretend to be Felo USA.

What is Wiha pretending? I don't understand your argument. I don't really care if somebody who once imported Wiha tools is now selling a different brand. What's that got to do with Wiha now? Nothing.

As for the inomics, just don't look at wiha.de to see what they have looked like in Europe for the last 3 or 4 years.

Why shouldn't I look? Again, you make no sense.

I've seen that YT video 6 months ago when I first looked into Wiha tools. I like the product I saw, and when I researched this product at the USA website, it didn't bother me one bit that is was a little bit different! Why would it bother me? One is not superior to the other! Your argument is silly.

What has you grumpy? Again, you say, "Wiha and goodness no longer go together" and when I ask you to give reason why, you have nothing relevant. Your points of argument are just silly and make no sense. I see no reason why you need to make any 'noise' at all!
