I have been using AllDataDIY for my vehicle service manuals for several years, but it seems their prices like most things have gone way up. Is there a better alternative these days to All Data DIY for 2 to 3 vehicles?

Depending on the brand, you might be able to sign up for a short-term subscription from the manufacturer's tech info site and download all the PDFs in a weekend.

That's what I did for our fleet of Toyotas:

Considering it for the new-ish Hyundai. I'm pretty sure this is legit; it's commonly recommended on the Hyundai fora:

Rock Auto has the service manuals on CD for many vehicles for maybe $20. I have them for my 2017 Tundra (I think they FSM is actually for the 2015 model but really the same truck) and my 2005 4Runner. Navigation within the pdf takes a little getting used to and I don't think the hot links work. For the price, can't beat it.

I will check them out, today is for a 2004 Silvarado 2500 which has lost the tail light out put for trailer connector, and my subscription for AllData has expired. they were $25/yr, now $60/yr

Chevy has ACDelco TDS I haven't signed up yet becuase I wasn't sure how easy it would be to download everything, or how much time.

Well I bit the bullet and paid $130 for 3 years of All Data DIY for 1 vehicle service information

AC Delco is $20 for 3 days. I was thinking about the strategy bwringer mentioned.

I too have been using AllDataDIY for years with mixed results. I will say that they offer some pretty good savings when adding a vehicle to your subscription. That said, the UI is clunky and I find the site difficult to navigate even if I know where to look. The biggest issue I have with them is for some vehicles, they have a pretty thorough database filled with helpful content, while other vehicles they provide far less offerings. Problem is, you won't know until after you pay for a subscription.

I'll be following this thread closely though, since I too would like to find something better. I'm not near as concerned with price as I am value, although I understand that value is highly subjective and relative.

I actually use Chilton through Stark Library in Ohio. If you live outside of Ohio, you pay $30 a year and you get an e membership that gives you access to the library's digital resources including Chilton DIY and Consumer Reports among other things. Way cheaper than All Data DIY (which has gotten outrageous).

for Ford you can buy short term like for a couple of days. I remember reading that some libraries offer auto data online.

Try your local public public library, my local library has an amazing reference service.

I have been using, AllData for several years, and like it. Before I got it I always used factory service manuals.
Ultimately the problem was a fuse, which I would have found eventually.

I find this conversation amusing. If you think AllDataDIY is expensive ask a professional shop how much they pay for Mitchell Pro Demand. I think you will then find AllDataDIY to be EXTREMELY reasonable.

Mitchell1 DIY is $60 for 4 years. I have used AlldataDIY for years, some of my subscriptions are still active, but I'm transitioning to Mitchell. It'll take some getting used to, but it's much cheaper as of now.

I won't work on a car without service information unless it's something I've done before and have all the steps memorized.
