April 2022 tool truck sighting.

I saw a Matco truck heading south on I-81 this morning. Close to exit 302. Between Middletown and Winchester,VA. Any one else seen any tool trucks on the road? You don't have to be a customer, just a spotter. Thank you for your time.

I see them all over my metro area every day, of all flavors..... Snap-on, MAC, Matco, Cornwell, and even some private tool truck dealers.

I only see two Snap-On trucks... one rather large. I have seen a Matco truck but never seen one of them there Cornwell trucks.

My favorite truck is a hot dog truck run by several young ladies...

3 snappy trucks drive down my road. I've seen Matco once and my first Cornwell truck the other week.

Living in central Ohio I have seen them all. Regularly see Snap-on. A dealer lives a couple of miles from me. I work just about a mile from the Mac distribution hub so I see them often. I occasionally see Matco and Cornwell. I have actually seen a SK truck once a few years ago.

For the rest of today, I spotted one Snap on and a second Matco truck- both in Maryland.

I see one or two snap on trucks around here. Used to see a cornwell truck and a Mac truck at one of the bigger towns about 45 minutes from here, haven’t been over that way in a while though.

I see a Matco truck on US Route 460 in Montgomery County VA everyday on my way home from work around 6:15 on the road. No name on the side and it’s a little small in my opinion lol. I see the Snap-on truck pull up to my job on Thursday lol . That Matco truck used to service my dealership but they don’t anymore still see a lot of Matco trucks around though them and Snap-on are top in my areas. Haven’t had a Cornwell in a long time and now three Mac guys. I see one Mac truck actually my Mac dealer when I need something. I see him in Salem VA a lot as that’s his primary area he serves I seen him yesterday.

As far as I know we have 1 tool truck for all of Southeast Alaska, a snapon truck based out of Juneau. When I'm in town and need something I text him and either meet him at his storage or he drops by the house. Where I work at is boat/ barge or chopper access only so he doesn't visit us at site.

I see Snap-on almost every day. In the eight years since I moved to Texas I have seen only one other. That was a Cornwell. First one I ever saw.

The picture of the driver crying in front of his totaled truck I’m holding as blackmail

He called somebody else to come rescue his screwup as he didn’t want a customer of his too see his screw up.

Ya they called me to recover it!

Snap On and Cornwell have had the same dealer in my area for twenty years. I see them regularly. MAC and Matco dealers show up randomly every few years, they never last.

The point of this thread is to see how often garage journal members spot a tool truck. Maybe help people connect with a local driver. I keep running across garage journal members that ask how to connect with a tool truck driver. I know this is a long shot. I understand that urban dwelling garage journal are probably going to spot more tool trucks than I can. I'm actually ok with that. I hope this explanation answers your question. Legitimate question by the way.

I live an hour away from the closest Walmart, and I see the two tool trucks regularly. If I need something, I just stop at whatever shop they are stopped at, or I text them.

I just thought of another reason for this thread is that Cornwell trucks are known to be hard to find. I just wanted to figure out exactly how rare Cornwell trucks are to find. Some people claim UFO sightings are more common than Cornwell trucks. I'm not intending to slam Cornwell just sharing what I have read on garage journal.

I guess it all depends on location.

I just gave a buddy a $100 gift certificate to the local Cornwell truck. Wedding gifts are usually just boring stuff for the wife.

My coworkers and my wife both call our snapon guy the crack dealer. I can't get out of the truck for under a couple hundred dollars...

The Matco truck pulled up at the shop where I was getting some stuff done to my old car. I took it as a sign.

I had to drive 80 miles to get a water heater part this morning. As I pulled in to town I spotted and actually stepped on a Cornwell truck today! First time on a Cornwell truck in 28 years!
Super friendly guy, answered all my questions despite the fact I told him I had no intentions of buying anything today. He gave me a catalog and said if I ever need to warranty anything to mail it to him or bring it to him if I'm ever in town again.

Cornwell has just released a new comfort grip style ratchet handles in blue and green. Round now, not partially square like the last version. He mentioned they also released new 120 tooth ratchets and claimed they were made in USA.
There catalog has "Made in Ohio" next to their wrenches, sockets, ratchets and punches

Over all was impressed.
