Finished making & test fit the 5 temporary handles on the two smokers & the grill. Repurposed from a closet rail I found in the garage.
I actually made 6, but I made such a complete balls of the first one it became classified as "the prototype".

At some point I will make permanent ones from a piece of oak or similar. Still need to replace the wood shelf on one smoker & the grill. The other smoker has a metal shelf. Also need a new 2in thermometer for the grill

Started and Test ran the "new to me" pressure washer. It took a few pulls, but the gas left in the tank was enough to prove that I did not buy a "Lemon".

In January I was removing the card from my snow blower and I lost the needle valve! Ordered a new one. Then in early Feb. I fell and fractured my Fibula and I’m just now getting back to the Snow Blower. At least I had no left over parts and it started! TYJ.

Cleaning up the saw dust in the shop, the filter in the shop vac came loose and the saw dust from the sander blew all over the shop. Guess it is time to do some cleaning.

The weather cleared mid afternoon and refreshed from an unplanned nap, I removed the busted hinge, and cleaned it up, freed the frozen part, and welded it up. Not perfect but the hatch is now operational, and gives me time to find better ones.

Who makes hinges out of effing 12 gauge material? :wtf:

Installed insulation between the girts behind the work bench. I want to hang my cabinets and figured I better put in the insulation now or I may never get to it. I installed three full sheets and used every single scrap. The only pieces left are the sawdust.

You guys and your actual projects..:)

Tried to organize a bit. An upcoming garage sale has pretty much taken over my garage. :( The purge will happen soon though.

I have been working on cleaning and polishing the chromed parts for my 1966 BSA 650 Spitfire Mk11. It's been sitting disassembled for decades and I have started a recommission project with hopes of having it running next year to celebrate my 50th year of ownership.

Made a floormount bracket for a cb radio for the truck. Fetched tools in and out and I worked on the car and truck earlier in the day.
Drank a beer and piled **** on the bench.

This afternoon I Survived another session of Cardiac Rehab. This morning I watched a YouTube about a guy making a 700 mile trip in only three days driving a clapped out 1928 model A, it was a fill the oil and water at every stop and check the gas. The car was purchased sight unseen on an internet auction. The photos were old and he had to clean the carburetor to get it off the lot. Top
Speed starting out was 45MPH at the end of the trip top speed had dropped to 30.
The video reminded me of my first car. Fill the Oil and check the gas.
Vice grip garage is quite entertaining. I watched that one when it first came out a couple weeks ago.

The other day I took a crack at firing up a generator I got for a wicked deal about a year and a half ago. It had a broken pull cord but was otherwise supposed to work. Well Good Friday was a windy sunny day so I decided to give it a go. At first I found there was lots of cord so I just put the new handle on and gave it a few yanks. Of course after a few pulls it broke in the middle so I had to install the new cord too.

I couldn't get it going on the gas that came in it two winters ago (what a surprise) so I siphoned the old gas off and added it my van before tossing in a few litres of fresh high test. A bit more grunting at the pull rope, a few squirts of carb cleaner I to the air intake, and some guesswork with the choke and I finally got it rumbling away! It even has power on the 120V outlets!

Now the really silly part, I put the genny away and we headed inside because the wind was getting uncomfortable. By about supper time the wind storm had taken the power out. By the kiddos bedtime I was starting to think it was time to drag the genny out again and get an extension cord run to the sump pump. Then just as I was about to head out to the shop the power came back on!

Oh well, so far I'm in $120 for the generator and $8.99 for the new pull cord. I won't need many wind storms to make that worthwhile.

Futzed around taking some mental measurements in consideration of replacing the rubber air hoses I have feeding my hose reels with a 1/2" Rapidair setup. 1/2" M copper will still be cheaper and move a LOT more volume...

Continued, cutting, grinding, welding, n priming on the trailer. There was a bit more rust than I estimated, and I ran out of cutoff wheels, so didn't make it as far I'd hoped. To the casual observer it looks the same, maybe worse, just without fenders.

Hung up a second retractable extension cord ( from HF ) first one I added 6 months ago and has worked out very well. also added 4 locking swivel casters to my HF 30 inch pedestal shop fan. the casters came from HF. these are stem caters and take a 1/2 - 20 nut ( not included ) if you are looking to do this ( if you have one of these fans ) this fan moves a lot of air.

Sanded a motorcycle tank. I wasn't happy with how part of it was shaped, so I put a little bondo on it and cleaned it up. Will try to get some primer on it this week. I want to get base coat on the parts this weekend.

Swapped in a new wiper stalk on my son's LJ while he was home from school for the weekend. Took the emergency spare off my wife's Cayenne, and put the newly replaced tire and wheel back on. She cut the turn too sharply when turning into the new driveway and the rock wall took a bite out of her side wall, tore a nice hole in it. I'm still impressed with how the spare in her car works, both when inflating and then deflating to store. It is ingenious for sure!!

Not in the garage, but basement project / workshop area.... I cleaned up the mess from all the construction / plumbing projects. The majority of the time was spent picking up tools and putting them away.

I noticed my side cutters were lacking positive cutting power and the cutting edges were dinged up pretty good. Since I had a file handy I entertained sharpening them for about 20 minutes. I messaged out all the dents and obtained a decent cutting edge. First test cut dents them again. Hmmm I'm guessing these were never hardened. The unit does not have any branding so I'm guessing it was an el cheapo make. Time for a new tool I suppose 😁

Spent time last week 'supervising' my grandson as he disassembled one jug on a jet ski which left him stranded last fall. Parts arrived Sunday so hopefully we'll get it back together this evening when he gets home from school.

The wife bought a kubota side by side at auction so Friday I went and picked it up. Pretty rough, but runs and seems solid. Spent Saturday cleaning and changing the fluids. Then went at all the rust with a wire wheel, primer and paint. Front plastic was really oxidized and had some stickers which came off and new paint went on...still need another coat and then some clear..

Got the Kohler engine on the Ariens chassis. Not too much trouble. I had just enough new 1/4” fuel line to make it work.

Got the air cleaner assembly today off eBag. I wasn’t gonna mess with it, but the old one had broken where the stud screws to.

I’m not gonna be able to run the Ariens hood, as the muffler is in the way. But it looks as if I slice and dice the simplicity hood, I may be able to get a decent shape out of it.

Didn’t get it fired up on the Ariens yet. I need to source a wiring diagram first. And even before THAT, I have to swap wiring harnesses from the parts mower to the main mower. I may have to splice a couple connectors, and the one on the main mower already has been **** connected in a spot or two already. I won’t feel bad about cutting that harness up.

Otherwise, I’ll have to pull the harness out of the simplicity and modify IT to work in the Ariens.

Dunno yet. It got late, now it’s shower and dinner time!

Oil change & exhaust repair on Mrs. B's Outback. Now I'm trying to work up the ambition to change the oil in mine and replace a pair of wiper blades. Hard to overcome inertia

Switched the F150 to Sylvania Silverstar headlights. Didn't realize the average life of them (on the package) is only 150 hours...
I had bad luck with them in my vehicle. Constantly going out it seemed. After $40 worth of replacing them, I said f*** it and went back to stock. Not worth the trouble.
