I thought it was $800? Rumor has it it will be on sale for $500 soon; just a rumor though.

I like it, but I don't think they offer a top or sides yet???

Personally I think drawers are too tall, wish they had a few half'ers on it; wasted spaced.

But for the $$$ you can't beat it.

Some people like the drawer locks, others don't, but it's fairly simple to delete them.

There is about two hundred guys on this forum that bought them and like them. If you have a NAPA auto parts nearby they carry a pretty nice box that's a little bit more but I think it's a much better box.

You'll have to link to the actual box you are talking about. There is more than one HF roller box.

There are multiple threads on the box that has multiple sides and a top box also available for it...multiple 5+ page threads as a matter of fact. I replaced my Craftsman boxes with one and it was a major upgrade.

For what it's worth, I saw this box today, it seems pretty darned decent - I'd say it's at least as sturdy and heavy-duty as that 580lb tool cart that everyone seems to like.

It's got a black poly top to it, and as mentioned, there doesn't appear to be any kind of matching top chest or side chest for it.

Only has 11 drawers, and none of them are full-length. The longer drawers are about 40" long. I suppose it could use a couple more drawers, and make them a little more shallow on some of them, but it is rather cheap, compared to other 56" rolling chests.

$640 for it does seem like a pretty good deal. If it was $500, I'd buy it tomorrow.

This one:

http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-t...1-drawer-industrial-roller-cabinet-67681.html

Where's the word on it being on sale for $500? You can get it right now for $640 if you grab one of the 20% off coupons.
Local HF didn't even know about the box & nor did they know it was coming in. Word is; the manager talked to HQ about the box. HQ said if they don't sell, list them at $500. Seems far fetched but someone else said that too on here.

I'd buy it if they offered a top chest and sides. HF even said I could return my current box combo for 100% of what I paid. I said I would if I could buy or at least order a top chest and locker for the 56". Still waiting for an answer.

Not tryin to push your buttons or anything but i think there's more than that! No offense intended, just saying, seems like there's someone who gets one every day.

You may be right, I was just tossing a number out there as a figure of speech. I know that many of the guys here have purchased those HF boxes and like them.

Went to our local HF last night, didn't have any of the 56" cabinets on display or in stock (didn't ask about it either). I had hoped to check it out, as I get ticked off every day when I walk into my shop and see that between three guys we have three different color boxes (red, black, blue). If the quality and expandability was there for this unit, might be a nice option to buy and upgrade the aesthetic of the shop (once the US General badge gets popped off).

I can't stand the smaller HF units that everyone raves about. Layout doesn't work for me, color / texture / overall look is fug. HF needs to get these 56 inchers into more stores, I think the cleaner look and larger size at that price point is going to be a hit.

Was at HF yesterday to pick up an ultrasonic cleaner ( which works great) and was impressed with that box. For 799 it's seems a far better deal than craftsman boxes. The manager of the Appleton, Wi store said she couldn't keep them in stock as they sell so well.

that means they got another one. The day they got their first one in, they sold it and they had to wait to get another shipment in. Better go make my HF run :D

They are nice boxes for the money, lightyears ahead of the US General with the red crinkle finish. They are not comparable to KRA,KRL's but they are not supposed to be at 1/6th the price. If I ever need a box for my pullers, HVLP guns etc I would not hesitate to buy one. I have a classic 78 setup for my main box but at 799 I'm probably going to wait for it to go on sale and buy one for the above mentioned purpose. Sorry Indy you might have to wait again as it was getting taken off display due to being sold. I was also told that they have been selling well enough that a top chest is coming for it as well.

I talked to the dude at the local harbor freight and there is no news on any discount as a matter of fact they cannot seem to keep up? as its a popular box. I signed up for their club which will give notice of any discounts think i`ll wait a while see what happens. Called napa they have a 52inch bottom box $2000 thats not going to happen. Anybody been to cosco to see what they have?

a couple days ago, i put three items on the counter with a coupon on each of them and asked him to ring them up separately. he asked, because of the coupons? i said yes, and he said, i'll just ring them up together and he gave me 20% off on each.

If you really want a deal, buy something with a 20% off coupon, put it in your vehicle, go back in and buy another thing with another 20% off coupon!

I know guys that have the US Gen boxes and carts. They seem to work fine and are cheap as hell.
Go for it. (But me personally, I'd be embarrassed to own one)

You'd be embarrassed to own one until you actually own one ;) Then you'll feel like a fool for ever spending money on a snap-on box and you realize how much money you just saved to put towards snap-on tools

On a purely cost per drawer perspective, 2 of the 40'' standard one's would be 80'' of cabinet for about $660 if you used the 20% off on both.

Still a heck of a cabinet though for the money.
