Still contemplating a 4 Post lift, vs QuickJacks…
If we go 4 Post, it’s definitely a Bendpak HD9XW… But the Bendpak Bridge Jack is just outrageously priced, and I’m not sure my Craftsman Pro 27 compressor even has the CFM it asks for.…

I’ve seen mentions of airbag jacks, scissor jacks: Anybody here use something other than a bridge jack to lift a car on a 4 post?

You don’t need a lot of cfm. Someone found another brand Jack that fit. You will have to search for the thread. Some don’t bother to search so there are many threads on the same subject.

You can use a floor or bottle Jack on the runners. You can also buy a Jack support tray and use a Jack in the middle.

I’ve been reading about alternative jacks: but can’t find definitive answers about what works with the Bendpak
Why not buy a less expensive manual bridge jack? Many of us actually prefer these over the pneumatic versions anyway.

Most are adjustable and will fit your 37.5" spread. The spread pictured above is 39" and you can see that there is far more than 3/4" of inward adjustment available on either side of the jack. That one is the typical 3500lb sliding jack that is re-branded and sold by a bajillion different lift companies.

Can I ask what lift you’re using it on? What bridge jack you have?

And how do you typically use it? (Lift vehicle, get under and pump?)

One of the things I’ve read is that some of the sliding jacks may actually hit the ground before the treads do, which increases the drive over height.

The lift is a Forward EFP9000, which is the same thing as a Direct Lift Pro Park 9 Plus (exact same lift, same manufacturer, and even comes with the stickers for both brands).

The bridge jack is a SJ-35 which is sold under a TON of brand names (Atlas, Tuxedo, Direct Lift, Titan, Triumph, Auto Lift, AMGO, and so on). Again, same part, same manufacturer, and re-branded to death.

Yes, you park the vehicle on the lift, raise the lift, position the sliding jack, and then raise the jack via the hand-operated hydraulic pump.

The jack does not protrude below the runways. Drive over height is minimal. I have some LOW cars, and they have all cleared.

I made axle stands for mine as well, as they significantly improve safety when lifting anything with a solid axle.

Unfortunately as one Bendpak owner found, they are not universal. That guy bought one that did not fit. He later found one that did that was cheaper than the one Bendpak sells. Keep searching. It has been posted a few times in the past 2 years.

Link? I've just run a search and was not able to turn up a thread that matches that description, though I found a number of threads where Bendpack lift owners purchased the bridge jack called out above.

Your cars must not be very low if they clear that. Mine certainly wouldn't. My G35 has maybe 2" of clearance. The Jetta about 3"

If people say that one works on the Bendpak then it must. I can’t recall which one works but do recall someone buying one that did not work. I have read the threads multiple times and am pretty sure I even contributed in one or more but do not have any links.

Drive over clearance was critical to me with my lowered turbo E36M3. I had Bendpak make me one of their older version jacks. They had done this for a few people over the years as I found from researching. Apparently they now sell this version again but it is not rated as high for weight.

Again, drive over clearance is only 2". I even went out and snapped this photo for you guys last night. If you don't have 2" of ground clearance, you probably won't make it onto the lift anyway. If you're only running one bridge jack, chances are good that you won't have to drive over it either (with the jack slid to the front of the runways).

It's available in 2.0 ton (4,400lbs) & 2.6 ton (5,700lbs) models and can be adapted to any brand of lift.
