Getting her all loaded up! Need to install one battery mount for the lonely DeWalt battery that doesn't have a home (tool) else find a tool to fit it. Spacing of the drill/drivers up top I don't love, as the belt clips hit eachother. I have about 1-1/2" of extra space so I may try and spread them out with 1/4" ply in between to space them and then rescrew them in.

Backside has my angle grinder, sawzall and oscillating tool. I've cut two more shelves for the back that have yet to be installed. Still to load up is the biscuit joiner and Brad nailer and a few corded tools in bags, which will go in the back side.
I haven't totally decided yet, but I think chargers will either ride up top, or on the one side where I mounted my 3D printed spade bit holder.

Finished the fabrication of a mounting bracket for an alternator. I welded it up from some tabs / clips i purchased from an ornamental iron supply company. Everything lined up the pieces were straight; but i found that i need to adjust the radius on the ends because there will be insufficient travel to adjust the belt tension.

The trip to the Commissary Store wore me out, had lunch and then tried to weld; I have not regained what little competence I had a couple of years ago so will be hitting the You Tube and trying to get better.

First off, kudos to Stedlin for this burnt orange. Perfectly matches my streamlight and one of my favorites.

Almost done with the compressor end, sorry no drier/evaporator in there for you compressor snobs. Not painting or sandblasting.

My eye keeps going to the C model Ford in the background......................................I worked on a fleet of them from the late 70's to the early 2000's compared to what is on the market today those were easy to keep running everyday..............................
That's old Margaret! She is a C750 project truck. Check out my YouTube channel I have videos of her over the last year. She's a long term project, but hopefully I am still slowly inching in the right direction. 👍

Saturday i replaced leaking water pump and worn power steering pump on my ‘91 Toyota 22RE. Nice job when you can stand in one spot in front of truck to easily replace both.

The bike got it's first start Wednesday and it ran but was coughing and spitting a little still. A little slow to roll off the throttle also but it ran and idled without the choke so that's good. I was off today so I took it out and filled the tank and rode it about 30 miles. It's improved considerably.
Current issues are that the front tire rides like it's hexagonal instead of round. The tires are at least 20 years old though so if I keep it then new tires are going on it. It's a shame since the tread is so good but not sure I trust tires that old at speed.
Second issue is the front brake dragging. I've got the caliper off now - going to clean things up and regrease. It wasn't floating too well when I started taking it apart.

Fiddled with a Nissan Hardbody I got from my SIL. It has the VG30E engine but will not start. There is fuel coming to the injector rail, but I do not have a fuel pressure tester to test delivery pressure. Checked for spark, there is spark at the ignition coil, but not at the spark plugs. Still trying to figure out the possible causes. Can do with new distributor cap. I do not know whether the camshaft sensor would affect spark.

If you have spark at the coil but not the plug wires look at the cap and rotor.

Is it a single piston caliper or a dual? If it’s single you need to make sure the caliper moves freely, if it’s dual then you might need to take the pistons out and clean them up.
And you should definitely get a good squirt out of the bleeder, not just a dribble.

Done a lot today. Lots of work on the Subaru vehicles lol. Last minute before I was getting ready to go the used car manager came to me saying man I need you to do something for me since you are the last tech here I said what’s that. He said I got this Jeep that they are saying the brakes are stuck on can you fix it tonight as it needs to be on the lot for the weekend sales and I said yeah I guess I can do that for you as long as it ain’t one with lug studs which is wasn’t luckily it was a 6 speed Wrangler so that wasn’t too bad and no lug studs just lug nuts lol. I think it had 87,000 on it. Caliper was stuck. Checked the pins, bone dry. So replaced that caliper and done new pads and rotors on both sides as where it was dragging it had made noticeable hotspots on the rotor. The used car manager got to set up in it on the lift while I done it so he could be the pedal guy lol. I wanted to replace the hose too but they said no so I have to do what they say as they are paying for it. One of the guys who I am training was also there but he can’t drive stick so they told him if he can’t drive one he can’t work on one lol. He was a mechanic in the military though so he knows a good bit I wanted him to help as it would of been faster but again I have to do what they tell me. I was confused when he started as I thought all military vehicles were stick shift as they were when my mom was in back in the 80s he said they changed them all to automatic sometime ago as no one can drive the others anymore lol. It was nice to get more overtime than I already get though.

I actually have 2 identical ones, both the Streamlight Strion LED HL. Awesome lights and really take a beating.
After watching my mechanics use them as hammers for 2 years I got one myself, now going on 5 years on the first and 3 years on the second.

I hate lug bolts also, but I got a set of these and love them for rigs with lug bolts.

I’ve never heard them called lug bolts lol. Me and all the guys at work call them lug studs and that’s what I’ve always heard them called. I have one of the hangars/pins for Mopar but just one I’m franchised to Subaru so don’t have to use it a lot fortunately lol.

At a parts stoppage on my compressor plumbing install, so I started working on my neighbors truck.
I didn't think it'd fit, but there it is...

He just got it at an auction, so it has a hundred little things it needs. Taillights were all wonky, he replaced the LED assymblies with new but the function were still weird. The right light worked OK sometimes, The left light didnt do anything until you turned the key to the ON position, then it went bright like the brakes were on. Thats weird, maybe a switch issue?
I started digging into the wiring out back to see whats going on, start simple. Found some add on pigtail thing that was going nowhere, and a bunch of loose wires hidden in wire loom and tape. Got rid of the pigtail extension and found some loose connections that were causing the right light to flicker. I didn't have a wire diagram, so I made my own schematic by flipping switches and checking wires for voltage. While tracing the left lights wiring back, I found the high and low circuits were spliced together to a single wire. Looking at the other side I was able to determine which was which, and the low side should be going to one of the stray wires I found in the loom.
OK, fixed that, now the park lights work, but still no flashers/brake unless the key is on. Hmm... well I found another stray wire that was the left signal wire, so I cut the lamp from the incorrect wire it was spliced to and hooked it up to the other stray. Eureka!
So now the signals all work properly, time to clean up and go pick up wifey at the airport.

Haha yeah. I remember the first time when I was doing one of those Jeeps and one of the lugs the cover was coming off so I was putting a new one on I set it on the counter and said I need one of these he said oh a lug stud ok. I agree the other is a stud too. He said they are called that because the lug nut and stud are together therefore giving it that name. Now I know the proper terminology though.

Top up the wind shield washer bottle, do one of those code clearing sessions with my car while at it, as well check up air pressure and lug nut torque on my daily driver.

Might back the truck In and adjust the rear brakes, she seems to be higher ups in the RPM range for something not really loaded up. also need to look into cruise control fuse as well the ABS light.

THEN I can play with the quad to figure out why she’s not starting up (she’s up for sale to boot).

yep woman has to work, so I will keep myself busy alright!

Unloaded a mini fridge and an Igloo cooler I bought at a garage sale, grabbed a bag of mulch to freshen up around some trees, started cleaning up my spare mower deck, and built new brackets for holding our window A/C units.

I'm really in need of a deep cleaning in the garage this week if we finally get some rainy weather.
