Cobbled this bench together for the garage from an old fire door and a base I found on Craigslist….my newest sub $100 garage accessory 😜

That looks great!
Are you tempted to add 2 more boards underneath to have a place to store things? I have a similar bench with a full shelf underneath to store power tools in their plastic cases.
But as is, it looks clean and uncluttered.
Nice! 🍻

Nice job! The vinyl covering strapped in on the edge gives it a nice clean look. The metal corner pieces were a great idea. What are the 2 metal circular pieces are they for covering the knob and lockset holes?

Great idea on storage! I’ll mull that over…

Exactly. Lock set hardware I had left a set of 2” holes. Luckily, there are many cord organizer options at that diameter. Those are metal versions from Amazon with a brushed finish. They also make an outlet and usb charger that fits, but It didn’t really look robust enough for power tool amperage.

Nice job. Is it going to live in the middle of the shop or relocated to a wall?
Headed for the wall with the cord keepers in the back and the vise in the front 😉

Mine is next to a wall 99+% of the time. I put it on lockable swivel castors so I could move it out to the middle for big projects where I need 360 degree access.

Sorry…newer here and don’t have all the forums down,

If a mod thinks that’s better, please move 😊

Looks great Theisan. Nice find and job putting this together. You've got yourself a very sturdy work surface for a reasonable price, nice job.

Thesian,
I like it. I know it is a door, but could you tell me the size of the door/bench? Also, what is the height?
Thanks,
Mike in WI
