Kind of a "Meh" day, I think 4 stops paid off. the TOO's didn't (one could have if the guy wasn't pricing Via Eprey)

$10 for - Stanley Wood Chisel, MAC BP, Wiss M3 straight snips, general scribe, Starrett scribe, Bosch 2 ended pocket (straight and Phillips) pocket driver, Norton sander belts, Mustang 1/4 Ratchet, 4 sockets P&C socket, Wright Ext, 7 SK socket; and I saw these after the first buy - $2 for the Marchand French Binoculars - WWI (found the same pair issued to someones G-Grandfather in WWI) :

ES Wood Chisle, MAC BP Wiss Snips gen & Starrett scribe Bosch 2X driver sander Belts Mustang R...jpg

A buck for all - a DOE I grabbed out of curiosity - there are markings but it needs a E-Rust bath..., an old hook (The "patina" may help for a planned project) and 2 Flares and Cents 50 for a rat tail, and Craftsman Drill stand - probably post heratige? = CRAFTSMAN = :

Y1 DOE hook Flares Y2 rat tail CM Drill stand.jpg

and and $5 for Wipers that I think fit the T-Van

Finally able to get yesterday's haul out of the car and photographed. The sale was advertised as a digger sale, things were pretty orderly, and stacked deep. It was a 24 x 40 building exclusively dedicated to tools and garage stuff. I spent an hour digging, and came away with a bag full.

The headstock pulley is both upside down, and appears to not be seated all the way. No reason your hands should be up there in the first place...

I was 1-4 today as far as sales even worth getting out of the car for. The last one I grabbed a nice Mizuno baseball mitt for my kid for $3 and unfortunately dragged this old boat anchor of a Craftsman drill press home with me as well. The old man said the motor had been replaced but we plugged it in and it works along with the light. It appears that the belt cover is missing (can anyone confirm it had one) but is in otherwise good condition. He was asking $25 and before I walked away I said if you'll take $15 I'll take it. He agreed and I gave him a $20 for the glove and drill press. Looking for any information on it as I don't see a model number on it since the motor was replaced.

Went to the community garage sale in the nearest town but pickin's were slim. Bought this apparently unused welding liner for $3.

Since it was already over 100 degrees me and the misses decided to make a day of it and hit a bunch of junk/antique stores.

Found this really cool shop made toolbox. Can you tell what it's made of?

I also got this little Whitney punch box.

But my favorite buy of the day I bought ladies Shabby Chic store. I almost fell down when I saw it. I paid more than i wanted to but nowhere near what they go for. I went from never having seen a service mechandiser to now having 2, a Lincoln and now this Graco.20220611_140543.jpg

I went looking for this (I missed most of a week due to getting ht subscription dropped because I missed getting to the end on a subscription reminder...) - I didn't find it, but did see the old Coleman funnel in the original (tattered) box. Nice find!. Once of the early aluminum Funnels I believe? I have one in a more tattered box also missing the top flap. - I've actually glued the damaged boxes of other items back together - I use Aleene's Tacky Glue as it dries flexible and clear, not brittle.

Private sale by appt. yesterday. Met a very nice 75yr old European immigrant, and had some interesting conversation about travel, politics, and history In Europe.

He pointed to the Artisan rat and said it was going to cost a bit. $18 for everything, no haggle. I left very happy!

2 Brasso cleaners
2 Vise Grips
12” Crescent
1/2” Artisan ratchet
3/8” Snap-On ratchet
1/4” Technician brand import rat
1/2” Proto extension
5/16” Proto Los Angeles combo
Herbrand ingnition pliers
GMTK ignition wrench
interesting Bog curved dbe wrench.

I thought the Bog was bent but it looks like a specialty wrench. The bent box end is thin with the shank having two flat surfaces, while the thick box end shank has a round side and a flat side.

Buddy of mine grabbed that. He knew what it was immediately. The rest of us were baffled.

I've cleaned up the vise. It did not clean up as well as I had hoped but it is very tight. Zero slop in the jaw and the screw.

Picked up a Dayton grinder and an old Toolkraft drill press last weekend. Spent the week replacing some wiring, toggle switches, and hardware. Fresh coats of paint and let the USA machines ride again ! 😉 Gave $45 for the grinder (which included the stand that the press now is mounted to) and $80 for the drill press. I’m happy with them.

@Thesian, can you add a closeup/legible pic of the nameplate on the Dayton grinder?

Very cool finds, BTW. Did you take any "before" pics?

Picked the right sale to hit first Saturday morning, family run estate sale that just said the usual stuff including tools and no pictures of said tools but I had a hunch based upon the pick-up truck in the photo's. Only tools were in the garage inside a well used Vulcan stack that they wanted $200 for including tools so not needing another tool box I asked if they would part with tools separate...yup no problem. Was the only one there looking at the tools so took my time digging. Love family sales........$20 for all............that is not including gas:LOL:...........:(

Well used and incomplete Vulcan punch & chisel set, Vulcan drivers, Vulcan line wrench and Vulcan SAE 3/8 impact sockets

Vulcan 3/8 drive 6 point metric socket missing the 10mm of course !, set of Vulcan distributor wrenches, Vulcan metric ratcheting wrenches.

S-K 1/2" drive long ratchet, Blue-Point adjustable, Snap-On metric stubby, and a Perf-A-Torq torque limiter ? of some kind

Nice haul for $20! You must have a pretty big Vulcan collection.
If he gets any more Vulcan, we'll have to change his handle to Spock. Live long and prosper.

Flyer that rates a You ****!!! You coulda stopped with the full chisel set in a roll and still sucked!!

Saw a post on Facebook marketplace for a guy selling Mac / Snap On sockets. I get there, he tells me a guy is on his way from out of state to take it all but I can pick through it a bit. I'm picking through it and he just says make me an offer and take everything so I don't have to wait for the other guy. I ask him what the other guy was paying and he said 300 and if I match it it's mine. Almost everything is Snap On / Blue Point, some Mac, GP, USA Craftsman. Maybe 1 in 30 pieces is junk brands. There are some brokens that I need to warranty but I think I did pretty well.
