Finished my daughters cooling problem/fix in her CRV.

Tomorrow and the next few days I’m finishing the AC install on the chevelle. I took next week off of work so no excuses and no interruption.

Broke ground on staging up an ac modernization replacing the compressor and the VIR. I actually squirreled away R12 and a new compressor .. but the ac hose dude, i was his only customer, schooled me on how 'easy' and 'why' i should move on to a Sanborn compressor and R134a. I guess the Sanborn compressors are super popular and reliable. I bought a mount adapter kit (its like a bag full of ikea parts without instructions) and i think i have it dialed in with the pulleys matching up. Just mocking up because i am 'fixing' to pull the big boy 500 out for some lower engine knock work. It has to come out with the FWD transmission attached. The VIR replacement looks smooth too - it specially designed to line up to the lines already coming from the firewall.

Are you remodeling your kitchen?
Yeah big time! Put in an 8x16’ extension with crawl space. New cabinets installed, ceramic floor underway, countertops next week, then final plumbing and electric, and finally appliances.

Connected the range to my compressor circuit (50A 4-wire feed), using garage sink for dishes, and fridge is shoved into dining room for time being.

But I think the end is in sight finally. Still need two back ordered faucets.

Getting ready for a 12'x35' carport. Just gotta drop those trees, grind the stump, and get some gravel....
I moved 4-5 pallets of steel drops & scrap, a full pallet of pavers/cinder blocks/bricks, and a lot of fluff...

Tried and found that threaded holes on my new Honda engine are tapped 5/16-24 so I can mount the belt turnbuckle to tension the drive belt for my Generator Project. I will have to drill the jaw ends of the turnbuckle to 11/32 for the 5/16 mounting bolts.

I am aware of an interest in progress photos but my Microsoft Tablet did not come with a camera.

Ripped into my ATV some more, discovered what i believe is a seized bull gear on the starter. New one be here Tuesday To investigate more.

I so want to get rid of this unit but she’s been paid for, for years and barely ridden. Can’t justify a 15k Suzuki right now when I need a Diesel truck first.28B66C6F-8FAF-4403-9B3E-EB7910C3BDDC.jpeg

Just killed mole number 3 for the week. Well - behind the garage - not in it actually. But I was in the garage before I went hunting.
They are unrelenting and stealthy creatures - but I'm a creature of patience and perseverance.
I would love to hear how go about successful mole hunting - I'm an abject failure at it....

I've been at this property for about 28 years. Although I'm only on about .67 acres I have fields behind me which is great for privacy but bad for moles. In the beginning years I easily killed a dozen moles a year for several years - it started thinning out over the years but I'll still kill anywhere from 2 to 6 each year. Based on that, I've easily killed somewhere between 70 and 100 moles. All with only a shovel.
Starting out, if you see tunnels then push them down. A riding mower works great for this. Flatten everything. Then come back every 30 minutes or so and see if they have pushed any back up. If the mole is active, you will see them push the ground back up. Spend about 5 minutes looking - if they are active they will be moving the ground - easy to see. If they aren't, no sense in standing around for hours. Also, only watch the ends of the tunnels - as they travel in an existing tunnel you won't see them - only when they are making new tunnels.
If you see them pushing the earth up - they will be working from a tunnel area into a non tunnel area. You want to get behind them - in the existing tunnel area - so when you dig it will cut them off from an easy escape. Don't get in a hurry - let them push up a few times to get a good idea of where they are at. It seems that they do most of the pushing with the front part of their body - so don't hit the spot that just moved - hit about 3 to 4 inches behind it. Quickly seat the shovel in the ground at a slight angle toward the mole and flip up the dirt in one quick motion. The mole will likely be in the mass of dirt you just dug up.
And it will be very confused at this point. It will literally just lay there going 'What happened?' and you have a good twenty seconds or so to leisurely end it. Hard to judge the time - just know that you aren't going to have to chase it. If you give it time to recover though before you dispatch it - it will disappear very quickly.
Your problem is going to be their feeding schedule - if it's 1 am then it's going to take a while. However, I think they do feed multiple times per day so be persistent and you will get them. I've had a handful that have taken a week to get - but I'd say that literally 90% of them are gone within 24 to 48 hours after I see the tunnels.

Looks like rain here too, but the weather guessers say no... (But they can't get within 5 deg of the actuals the past two days...)

Rehandled a 12 oz MAC BP I picked up yesterday - the old one was wire wrapped, and when I took that off it was fractured almost to splinters... Some people.

Played with 2 stoves and got them going - both Optimus; a 324 Ryder, and an 8R. Not sure I believe the 324 rating at 8000 BTU -- the 8R as 3300, more realistic. Trying to decide if I want either to replace the SEVA 123 in the overnight/Weekend stove/fuel/lantern/pantry box...

Other than that, put stuff away and 2 naps (nap 1 got interrupted...)

Fabricated a cunifer brake line to replace the steel one that rusted and burst on our 2005 Dodge Cummins.

I just don't understand why steel brake lines were still OE fit on some vehicles once alloy solutions became available...

Thankfully, it burst while moving around in the driveway and not while out on the road or highway (that's where the line failed on our old 96 Ram!). Unfortunately, it became a rush repair as we need the truck for our camping trip this week 😲 But, it's fixed, the brakes are all bled, and I cleaned and lubed all the caliper pins for good measure, too. Oh, and rotated the tires.

I used to bury those upside down at the edge of the woods. But it was punji sticks and MIG wire that finally nailed the pervert.
Love to hear that story..lol Peeping Tom?

Forgive my ignorance, but what are the zip ties for?

Started the long and painful process of changing the Alternator, serpentine belt tensioner and a host of other things for my 2011 G37 coupe. Actually TESTING out the latest garage floor Aspartic covering that was just installed. Looks/feels amazing. Then I took my 93-300ZX to the dealer to pick up some parts and came across my future coupe - Q60RS as shown in the picture.

Z looks clean :) How many miles?

Got some hand me down speakers from my folks, decided they were a good upgrade for the old onkyo speakers I was running from my childhood.

It's funny when you get a new piece of equipment of large storage cabinet, it requires a complete change to the entire layout of the garage. I posted about a large 11 drawer Stor Loc cabinet I got from work on a different thread. Well trying to fit it in my already maxed out garage required everything to move around. It looks ot better, but it took two days to get it there and it's not completely finished.

I will post pictures when I get a chance.

I still didn't find that damn socket set though. 🤣I think it's safe to say it isn't in the garage.

Oil & filter change on the ShitBox Honda. Last one was Jan 25th '21... but only about 2250 miles ago. This is why I'm only on my 2nd tank of gas in it this year.

Backed ST out of side yard, parked in front of garage.
Backed Honda out of side yard, parked in the street.
Backed Camaro out of garage, parked in side yard.
Moved Honda into garage.
Did oil/filter change.
Fired up Honda, got CEL for running rich on rear bank. It did this before, bottle of Techron & a 30 mile run sorted it.
Cleared code, CEL stayed off.
Backed Camaro out of side yard, parked in street.
Backed Honda out of garage, parked in side yard.
Moved ST from in front of garage to side yard behind Honda.
Moved Camaro from street & parked it back in the garage.

Started clean up.
Finished clean up.

Cleaned, flung, organized, recycled. Made a pair of nice little scrap boxes out of a bigger box, I got for free and some scrap. Moved all my scrap from the floor, and a bunch of 5 gal buckets, into the new boxes. Sorting and flinging as I went. The scrap takes up a lot less space. Vacuumed. Organized my few tiny upcoming projects on the bench.
