Not sure what took me so long to get one of these. Someone on GJ said that Thomas & Betts were nicer than the Panduits. Feels good in hands. Got this on ebay for $20 shipped. Now I suddenly need one for larger zip ties.

I was forsaking ebay for a little bit after my drunken purchase of 12 pt Snap on flare nut wrenches, but have to say old USA made zip tie guns and drill press vises are a bargain on ebay right now.

So I decided to bite the PB Swiss bullet and grab some of their drivers. First impressions are very good. Can hardly wait to put them to use!
My one complaint is why on earth would they mold a big ol' ugly bar-code right in the middle of the drivers' beautiful handles?

Not only are they barcoded but they also have a serial number... Have you seen any other screwdriver with a serial number?

With PB Swiss screwdrivers you can choose the packing option. One option is a card backed packet which keeps the drivers pristine.

If you (or your dealer) has chosen the eco option, the bar codes are printed on the drivers. I can’t speak for the Swissgrip handles, but on all the others the barcodes are not permanently printed, and can be removed with a trace of spirit!

More Amazon Japan goodies...Nepros 1/4 and Koken 3/8 breaker bars (use them as spinner handles), Koken 3/8 impact sockets, a Trusco box, and some Olfa stuff. Because it is stupid cheap on there.

I have yet to figure out the second step of ordering off Amazon.jp - setting up a payment.

So all my orders get cancelled, lol :(

It's really no different than ordering from Amz US or Amz in another country. Could be you credit card, some don't accept international transactions & could get declined for that. Some charge extra for international. I use my Amz card cause there's no fee for international.

That is most likely the problem, just need to give them a call and let them know you will be making a purchase from an international vendor. I've had to do this before.

I agree with the other two above.

The first couple of times I placed an order, my CC flagged it for fraud. But they then sent me a text asking if it was a legitimate purchase, and once I approved it, they cleared it. Now it goes through, without issue, the first time.

There’s a second step after submitting my order about setting up some sort of payment method.

I’ll take some screenshots and post in another thread.

Sorry to have diverted the topic.

Knipex started printing bar codes on the handles & I hate that. Not sure how long they've been doing that but even with recent purchases some have em, some don't. And it don't wipe off easy with any solvent that won't damage the grip. At least they print them on the back side but still, looks cheesy to me.

I only own 2 PB Swiss screwdrivers, one has the bar code, the other doesn't. But the one that doesn't have it is not a conventional handle, it's a T-handle.

Here the pic the guy sent me.
Scooped this 4 drawer and a few small old metal boot bins with the plastic clear drawers for a good deal.
Going to add bigger casters to it probably for rolling in my gravel driveway.
Eventually want to get a side locker to build a frame under them and have a big roller. Always thought those builds where sooo cool.

Nope, and that is part of the reason why I bought them. The serial number is laser etched in the shaft and makes the driver feel that much more carefully crafted. The barcode is probably just for quicker inventory scanning... but it's **** ugly. I may try removing them as others have suggested.

I’m not particularly proud of this purchase, but I picked up the Harbor Freight 225 piece tool set for $100 on sale. We’re taking the 99 Cherokee on a ~400mi round trip which includes some off roading, so I wanted something to throw in the back as a precaution. Plus it will be handy for trips to the junk yard, helping people out with jobs at their house, when someone calls me stranded on the side of the road etc…. It’s getting old having to cherry-pick tools from my tool box any time I need to bring them somewhere away from home for a task.

Needed a few more ryobi batteries and figured I’d try their free brushless chainsaw, may be good for small pruning.

Interesting to see ryobis 4ah and 6ah batteries are exactly the same size physically but the 6ah is 2oz heavier and almost 6oz lighter than their old 6ah. Hopefully it’s a good battery

In my early 20s I worked out of one of the 301pc mechanics tool sets from HF and a tool bag with better wrenches and a few odds and ends. Served me well when it was all I could afford.

Some new Tekton pliers. Two sets of 5 inch straight jaw vise grips. I have had really good luck with their vise grips but I absolutely hate the release lever though. I bought these from Tekton because I couldn’t find any other manufacturers of straight jaw 5 inch vise grips. So far the Tekton ones I have are great the jaws don’t flatten like their competitors. And then a 5 inch pair of “Channellock” style pliers. USA made too which is nice.

I really like the packaging the way it was done too. Very happy with Tekton. Only thing I’ve found to avoid from them is the hand impact driver but it’s not the worst out there.

Keep us updated Blake how the Tekton locking pliers work out for you. I had issues with failure at the release joint rivet. But I'm hard on everything, wanted to see if it was just me being an animal.

The long nose ones I’ve had have been great. So far no complaints. That’s part of the reason I bought these. We will see how these do hopefully as well as the needle nose ones. I seen some of your posts on them maybe you are rough LOL.

I have the 10x11mm Hazet wrench and its been fantastic for brake jobs. Like yours, one side was punched off-center and emailed them for a replacement, which they sent FOC. Of course that doesn't affect functionality and I gifted the old one to a friend.

I love this set. The slim profile allows me to keep it behind the seat of my single cab work truck, and it’s paid for itself many times over.

I absolutely hate the release lever though.
I am just the opposite. I like the Tekton style release lever so much I replaced my small collection of vise grips with all Tekton, and gave the old ones to my wife, who will use vise grips on just about anything instead of a proper tool. At least she does not touch/fix any of my stuff. :)

You've got me squinting and using a digital caliper to figure out which one is off-center.

I must be blind, because I can't figure it out.
