I’m doing some wiring on my Chevelle and my radio shack wire cutter/crimpers aren’t cutting it🤣😂. Since others here got these Snap-Ons I’d figured I’d try them too. I’ve only handled them and let me just say WOW, they feel very stout. By the way my favorite color is green.

Holy ****, I can't believe how much Kroil costs now! Looks like you can't buy it directly from Kano anymore & no more 2 for 1 deal. Time to find something else. Picked up CRC Knock'er Loose. Also picked up KW Knock'er Loose to compare. I never heard of KW but apparently it's a CRC brand/owned. I thought they'd be the same exact product but they're not. The CRC is an orangish color & the KW is clear. Both smell similar but different, the CRC smells a bit more like Kroil & reminds me of Kroil.

So far so good, I like the CRC stuff. Haven't tried the KW yet, if both work just as well as each other I think I'll stick with the CRC cause it's got a color to it that's easier to see. I haven't looked up what the differences are. Both cans were $10ea, CRC 13oz, KW 18oz, well the KW was actually cheaper from Napa with AAA discount & you get more. The Kroil cans I used to buy are 16.5oz. No more buying Kroil for me at 3 times the price than KL, luckily my last can is still 3/4 full so I'll be using it very sparingly. Luckily I don't have to deal with rust much. Rust here is basically just surface rust compared to the rust belt. :)

Was running low on luer lock bottles so I restocked, I think I should have a lifetime supply now. The ones I like are from Howard Electronics. I use these for all sorts of fluids & keep them handy everywhere I need, even inside the house.

Got a new pair of digital calipers. But the seller sent ones that are different than pictured in their listing, I hate when they do that! They sent me fractional calipers which I absolutely hate. The uncommon fractions are useless, sure I can just ingnore that mode. But what I hate about fractional calipers is the last digits are smaller. I don't understand why they make em like that.

But no matter, all that whining for nothing, I didn't buy them for the calipers, I bought em for the case. :D I like these specific cases to store my Mitutoyos, love their calipers, hate their cases. Learned my lesson with my last pair by never storing them in a case. And since they stopped making my favorite style I wanted to take better care of them (I have back ups too). I used to buy these from HF for $10 & give away the calipers. But they doubled in price now & their cases aren't the same anymore. Just wish I could find a proper case for my 4" Mitus but whatever, the 6" case is fine.

I finally decided to replace my my Wera hex keys. They are considered the gold-standard by a lot (especially in the bike world), but I've always found that they tend to mangle bolts if you are adjusting them regularly. Looking forward to seeing how the PB Swiss do.

Then, I picked up more Koken stuff to expand the collection.

I switched over to Seafoam Deep Creep a couple of years ago, and I’ve been very happy with it. Haven’t had to buy it since last year, but a quick check on Amazon says it is significantly cheaper than Kroil.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the fractional calipers. WTF do I need to read in 128ths of an inch for? It took me a bit of searching before I found a set that would only output measurements in 64ths of an inch max resolution.

Thanks, Deep Creep was one that I was looking at too, I'll have to try it someday but the 2 cans of KL will last me a while. Before Kroil I've used PB Blaster & Liquid Wrench, LW worked better for me than PB. I wanted to try something new. And I didn't want to deal with mixing atf & acetone and use my own container, I prefer an aerosol can.

After doing some reading it came down to Knock'er Loose & Jack of All Sprays. I actually ordered the Jack last week (before I read more about KL) but cancelled my order after I found out it's a foam type spray. I suppose that might be handy in some situations but I would rather not have foamy for a penetrating oil.

Milescraft drillmate added to the arsenal this afternoon as well as a pair of Wen tracksaw clamps (not pictured). Not exactly the floor model drill press I am drooling over, but it will serve me for drilling out hinge reliefs on the cat box structure.

WD-40 by the gallon here, actually 4 gallon case for the sloppy seconds price of $40/4GALLONS ;)
Haha, yup I remember seeing you get that, that's a heck of deal! But I don't use WD-40 much. The only thing I use WD-40 for is cleaning my tools & machines, works great for that. Also used to use it for machining alumnium but I switched to something else.

Matco Wednesday today. Got some long bent and straight pliers. I needed them several times today for those annoying hose clamps. I’ll buy the tool for those soon. I personally like them my coworkers said they didn’t care much for the handles. That’s understandable but I do like the feel. I had the straight set already in the box from Snap-on so these will all go in the cart. Pretty nice pliers I think. Made in Taiwan but that doesn’t really matter to me they are well made. I really hope they don’t run this guy off the management went on there several times today complaining that the hourly guys are staying on too long. I’m hourly they didn’t say a word to me but they did the lube techs haha. He stays at our shop all day on Wednesday.

I got this from Amazon, via Amazon UK, and was a little hesitant to do so, since all the reviews for Hazet items on Amazon (US, UK, of DE) are split about 50/50, with half saying its awful (factory seconds?), and the other half saying its incredible. Luckily, I'll put myself in the latter category on this one. Also, it wasn't entirely clear whether or not this kit actually contain the HP version of the 1/4 ratchet, as some said their did, while others said it did not. Mine did. I also order the HPS version, just incase it wasn't. So once that shows up, one of them will be up for sale

This is my second set from Hazet now, and I must admit, I'm extremely impressed by their quality. Their sockets, especially, as the fit on both the bolt and ratchet are the best I've ever come across. The ratchets aren't the smoothest out there, but sometimes it's nice using something with a "mechanical" feel to it. They will pair nicely with my Koken/Nepros stuff.

And I'm a total sucker for a nice kit arrange oh-so neatly in foam.

I’ve bought Hazet from Amazon U.K. and have never had issues. The reports I’ve seen of “seconds” being sold all seem to relate to Amazon.de.

I actually bought the older version of that set a few years back. Probably for the same reason, it’s usually a factory promotion and an awesome deal.

I didn’t own any Hazet 1/4” drive till then, but my impressions were exactly the same, the fit and lock up was absolutely first class. My ratchet, despite being the coarse tooth version, was actually very smooth, and the Hazet 1/4” ratchets have become a favourite since. They offer a huge selection that few other manufacturers can better.

That set turned out to be particularly useful. It’s a great size to grab when working away from home and gives you a lot of what you need. If they offered it with the extending ratchet it would be perfect!

This was my first purchase from Amazon UK, but I have gotten some Hazet from Amazon.de. The 1/4" bit ratchet set was perfect, while the 1/2" ratchet was missing the "T" on the handle, so I do think that the Hazet "seconds" theory on Amazon has some merit to it. But, given the price savings, I still think it's worth the gamble.

It is an incredible deal. Since I already had the Hazet 1/2" ratchet and 1/4" socket set, I was really only wanting a standard 1/4 ratchet, 1/2 sockets, and some extension. But after adding everything up, it was actually a lot cheaper to go with the 953hp set. Which, in the long run, is also the better route to go, for the reason you mentioned...perfect size/selection to take it on the go.

I guess, calling the ratchets "not smooth" was the wrong choice of words...saying they have a "more positive" back drag to it, is probably a better description. But, as I said earlier, that can be a nice thing and I'm sure they will loosen up more with some use. I do love the shape and feel of them, so I do see them becoming my go-to 1/4" and 1/2" ratchets.
