Impressive! Please keep us updated if you have any issues with the coating? How thick does it roll on? Did you do more than one coat?
Its a little thinner when rolled on then sprayed, I did a coat and rolled again after about a minute when it was still wet, I wish I had the spiky shoes to do a 2 coats, but that would just be for color coverage (dark gray to light blue)

Did you clean the cement floor with xylene before painting? Did you scuff the floor at all?
I used a bunch of Simple Green, dry, then 1 gallon of Acid Etch.

I've used Raptor liner for several years. Did you buy that in bulk? I can't imagine pouring out quart containers to roll it. I like it for it's easy clean up but don't believe it's stronger than Speedliner that I've used in the past. Nice job though.
I was able to get it in gallon cans, so it made it easy. I believe Raptor has a higher chemical resistance then just about any other product, but it seems stronger then the concrete. I have already chipped the concrete by dropping heavy metal objects on it, but the raptor stayed stuck to all the chunks!

So, an update...
The floor has been doing great with use, and isnt slippery, even with water on it. I have had a few snow covered vehicals warm up, and only time it gets a little slick is with oil or radiator fluid!

I did have a lot of snow come into the garage after a few feet slide off the roof, and I was able to use the plow on my tractor to scrape it out with no damage to the finish, you cant even tell!

fantastic results, how quickly did you put this down? 18" roller? 1/2 nap?

it was an 18 inch roller, I think it was 1/2 inch nap.... just got it from Home depot, nothing special. I think the whole thing went down in under 45 minutes.

I believe the manf says 4L covers 125SQ FT. He did 900sq with 19L and he has some left over. SO the coverage is 1L/30SQ FT from manf and what he did is probably closer to 1L per 50SQ FT, but he only did one coat and it seems to be good enough. Im thinking of ordering a gallon of kirkey/nason myself and doing this. Looks like can get the whole garage done for less than 1k (4car).

I just got a gallon of Nason blue tint, and a little of white,.. mixed that (saved some) and then added to raptor, but ya I think I got around 50sqft per 1l, that math seems about right. I also did a half coat again when it was still wet to help coverage since I knew I couldn't do a 2nd coat (no spike shoes), so it could be as thin as 75sqft per 1L if you are doing a full 2 coats.

it is basically the homologation engine used in the La Mans cars. but only shares basic design in common.
Its an extremely smooth engine (balance a quarter on its side while bouncing off the rev limiter) that make decent power, and was very cheap for me!

Looks like the intake is sideways. I expect that on a fwd sideways engine but wouldn't expect it on a rwd engine.

Floor looks cool. I like the blue more than I expected. I would love to see current pics to get an idea how it looks in an active garage.

My garage is a mess right now, so it will be a while till I post any "clean" pics, but active garage pics I can provide! I haven't swept in a month, and been tracking mud, snow and sawdust all around!

I recently got a large pile of plywood cabinets, so the shop is full till I get everything installed. 30' of uppers and 14' of lowers for $200 total, I couldn't say no!

I think the big question for all of us contemplating this is "is it picking up anywhere" hard to tell with pics like you said.

Nope, not at all, I even plowed snow on top of it, dragging the blade and had no damage.

I wonder how this would work on the floor of a car wash. 100 cars per day without a slick floor is a tall order.

Fir a car wash a good choice is Uretane Mortar since they are very moisture tolerant. We sell these, contact us directly for info and pricing. Thanks!

For the most part its doing well. I have been renting out the garage to a local mechanic friend, so the floor has been eternally dirty. It seems to be holding up well, with having engines and transmission dragged across it unprotected. he abuses the hell out of it!

Also the concrete, before I put the coating on, was seriously spauled. I did a skim coat of some concrete repair stuff, but it turned out to be a lot softer then normal concrete.

I have found it doesn't like acetone (carb cleaner) it softens it right up!

For the most part it has been holding up ok. I do have some extra, and I mixed extra tint that I saved, so I can patch it up later, but I really do wish I did a 2nd coat, I think it would have held up a whole lot more!

you might be able to spy a few shot of it in some of my videos.

You can mix an aggregate into the Raptor that would work well for you. I have seen a few different type of aggregate for different applications. I didn't have any aggregate, and it isn't the best when VERY wet, but not horrible either.

Hi was wondering how your floors look now that 7 years have past. Did the product hold up?
Thanks

@kaje36 hasn’t been around since May 2020. Too bad as likely all of us would like to know how this has held up.
Any others here use the Raptor for a floor covering?
So I ended up doing it in 2020 and it has held up really well. I've drag floor jacks across it and no failures so far. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Diamond grinding wheel across the whole surface, it was pretty spalled in some places, so I used the Rust-Oleum filler on that. I do wish I would have used more fillers on the areas that weren't as badly spalled as the worse parts, just because those areas collect dirt.
