Looking for a good string trimmer harness or strap. Will only be used occasionally but when I do use it will be for long periods of time. Not sure that I want to spend $150 on a Husky at the local shop but if there is nothing in between that unit and the 20-30 dollar cheapies on Amazon I will consider.

I've got a Limbsaver on mine, works great for me, 20-30 minutes at a time unless I do the full perimeter of the property with a brush cutter.

Thanks for the link and experience. Will probably give this a try.

I simply used an adjustable nylon web strap from an old shoulder bag.
Posted about it on GJ and immediately got criticized for being weak and out of shape.
I find it to be a convenience since you don't have to put the trimmer down to unlatch and open a gate, move something out of the way, etc.

I have been using a Stihl Double Standard Harness since ~2004-5 when I bought my FS90R.

It's not a high-dollar model. I don't remember what I paid for it, but it currently runs about $30 at every dealer near me. I love it and won't even consider using the trimmer for more than a few seconds without it. With it I can put my trimmer to use for hours at a time without wearing myself out at all.

A quick Google shows similar ones under various brands can be had for ~$15 delivered.

I suppose perhaps if I was going to be running a trimmer all day long every day I might want something that costs more, but for a guy who cuts 3 lawns totaling about 5 acres a week with lots of weedeating on every one all summer long every year this is perfect for me.
