Vintage table saw, worth restoring? Worth anything?

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting. My friend has this vintage table saw that was his father's and he no longer
has room for it as he just moved. It works fine but obviously needs a full cosmetic restoration assuming it's something worth
restoring. Does this thing have any worth and if so do you have any idea how much? It will be for sale but probably locally as I
don't think it's worth trying to ship. Thank you.

If restoring it brings you joy, then do it. If you're looking to resell and get paid for your time or even get your material costs back? I wouldn't bother.

If that little motor runs strong and smooth, thats the majority of the value you have. I buy those old saws at auctions for $5-$10 most of the time. The value is usually accessories from what ive found. Knobs, leafs, motors, etc.

What is any old thing worth? I own and use an old saw. I like it. I liked the process of cleaning, restoring, set up, and using it. It is the centerpiece of my far too small shop.. Whether that saw you are looking at is worth a pristine, period correct restoration, a functional restoration, a clean up and repair or some lesser effort is up to you. The old saws just don't seem to sell for that much. No effort you put into that saw will be returned to you at sale unless your effort is worth a few dollars an hour. If you like the saw and want to keep it, remember it is just an old saw. It won't have a riving knife. It won't have a blade guard. So, no safety features by today's standards. Not trying to talk you out of it or into it but old saws aren't for everyone. Good luck whatever you decide.

On Craigslist, they go for at least $50 in unrestored condition.
