Pretty cool concept has the power and RPM speed of a 3/8" Impact wrench but a flat head like a ratchet. Let me know what you think.

It's not a ratchet. It's an impact so there is no reaction torque. It's a great tool for stuborn fasteners in tight places. The tool has a real nice look and feel, the trigger and reverse mechanism are nicely located and have smooth feel to them and the handle is comfortable, but I'm a little biased.

Not really a hopped up ratchet, it is truely an impact.

I was expecting to see it in action as well. But, the whole thing with the hammer head shark, the back ground music.

It was well done, but I have to agree they should have included even some animated flash images of the thing in operation.

Given the vast populace that view this site, perhaps someone at IR will see this and redo another video.

Regardless, it was still a great clip . . .

mac had an impact ratchet of sorts but i never talked to anyone with first hand use but i will say if this is as high quality as other ingersol products then it will be a godsend

yes, everthing else in the tool is the same except the square drive size.

You are correct, but this tool does not have a ratchet mechanism in the head and it will do 180 ft=lbs vs 30-50 that the impact ratchets do.

Anything as overhyped as that video makes me think of Billy Mays - either that or makes me think they are showing it to the company execs getting them excited over the profits they will be making.

Everything is the same except for the square drive, so the material costs are about the same.

The real surprise is that they don't appear to use the drive size as justification for charging excessive amounts.
