Got mine when it was clearanced out for $339 right before Christmas, it's been great for me so far. Get a mdf or melamine zero clearance insert off of Etsy (or you can make your own) , it keeps the big chips and splinters from going down in there. A better blade was a big help though and much quieter, got a Diablo combo one from HD.

yeah I've got plenty of blades already, that's what kept me wed to the 10" format. Old table saw, tilting compound miter, standard miter, all in 10"
Say some youtube stuff about router table add-ons and already have some zero clearance inserts in my amazon list. I've got the tools and ability to make my own, but not the time.

I saw these on FB marketplace. It had been on there for over a week. I didn't give it much thought, but figured I would go take a look while I was in the area. All USA made tools. SK, Williams, Snap On, Proto, Challenger, Blue Point etc. Over 150lbs in total. Still need to go through them to see what's what.

Picked up the new SO ctr867 brushless long neck 3/8 today to add to the collection. Need to send the OG long neck in for rebuild so I'll try this guy out in the meantime. Haven't seen many reviews on the new one so I'm lookn forward to putting it use

I have one empty 14V battery and it just might have that tool's name on it. Curious if it's that much better than the non brushless previous though?

CTR768 is the “Brute” high torque model, 70 ft/lbs but 175 RPM. The previous “standard” long neck 3/8 is the CTR767, 40 ft/lbs and 275 RPM. The CTR867 got a power upgrade to 60 ft/lbs while keeping the same 275 RPM.

That Tukon box looks pretty nice for the money. My local HF doesn't have a floor model for that particular box, otherwise I might have gotten one recently instead the 4 drawer USG service cart. I just needed something small to roll around the production floor at work.



Yesterday my 1/4" Garant socket set arrived to go along with the 3/8" set.

I don’t know if that’s in jest or not, but I got the recommendation for this tool from a fiberglass guy. Currently use a multimaster, and occasionally a jigsaw, but supposedly these work really well… I’ve got a Garmin 1243 to install here soon, so plan to try it out on that!

They are on clearance at Harbor Freight for $160. This week, they are doing 30% off clearance for non ITC members and 40% off for ITC members. I joined ITC and they took 40% off immediately.

Initial impressions on the button light are really good. Beefy, bright, love the USB-C charging. Magnet is really strong. Haven't really used the stick light yet, but the pluses seem similar.

Recent tool purchases.

Found this 1977 stamped Wilton 400 at an antique store a couple hours away.. for $180 I couldn't leave without it! Compared to my ~5 year old 5.5" USA Wilton mechanics vise, it's surprising how much beefier it is!



Snagged these old USA made Jorgensens from an estate sale for cheap


From a local online estate sale with a lot of NOS Snap-on items, I bought this whole lot just for the pistol-grip 1/4" driver, not realizing that there were 6 more Snap-on screwdrivers, some Challenger screwdrivers, and a New Britain bit driver with 4 bits in the handle.


I also won the bidding on a nos NAPA USA made metric 1/4" swivel impact set and this brand new Snap-on 'Quick Cutter'

Milescraft drillmate added to the arsenal this afternoon as well as a pair of Wen tracksaw clamps (not pictured). Not exactly the floor model drill press I am drooling over, but it will serve me for drilling out hinge reliefs on the cat box structure.

Wow I've been more or less away for over a month now... I have some catching up to do.
New garage (rental unfortunately, but we'd totally consider buying this place if it comes on the market) means that I've got to start filling it up with some new tools.

Needed a new floor jack, four stands, and an oil pan first and foremost, because I had been neglecting an oil change until the move was done. Added a new air line next, and a funky funnel with a shutoff valve ($3 why not give it a try?" New garden hose, trimmer and blower for the yard so I don't have to transport my old ones back and forth between here and my parents' house while they're away. This having a house thing is giving me lots of excuses to buy new shiny things.

Latest two additions are a Grizzly Edge/Spindle Sander and a DeWalt 10" miter saw that I picked up today. Going to use these to set up our printing/crafting area in the basement and build a couple of cabinets/book cases for the house. Still to come, when I make up my mind will be a small-ish table saw, so I can rip some wood for the cabinets.

I'm not sure where to post it, low and behold, there is a Mac truck now on Fridays. I work by IAD. I would occasionally see a Mac truck by where I live, 20 miles away. I have the Proto RBRT metric Allen set, they are killer. So I gave the new guy some business. RBRT Torx, is not to be had by the Proto, let alone in stubby. SST13RBRT. $200. I'll take it. I'm also partial to Mac/Proto because their sockets both in chrome and impact tend to have a thinner profile. And, they make the shallowest 1/4" chrome swivels. I do a lot of engine work, clearance is everything, those that know, know.
