Thank you all so much. I was thinking the same after looking at every red toolbox I could find. But I couldn’t read a logo on the one I did see.
I don’t know how to tell the year of it! This is messing up my whole program now. As I was trying to sell & couldn’t figure out why so many were looking & not making offers lol.
Thanks again for your help.

OTG is correct, it's WaterlooScreen Shot 2022-07-17 at 6.45.13 PM.png
I’m still lost. Because there isn’t a number on the lock?
My first clue when I couldn’t find a date code was the crooked logo. I wouldn’t buy a high dollar/name brand anything if the stitching, etc wasn’t perfect. But, I was told since it had been moved over the years & sat in the heat of a garage, etc. however the other 2 logos didn’t move.
Anyway, I’m still having trouble finding one like it -what I’m finding is a Bonney that looks like it & also a Rimline(?) not familiar with Remline.
This top box had a small brass plaque inside lid that said it was built by GMC for my husband. His father owned a GMC DEALERSHIP in the ‘70’s.
Thanks for listening, I’m just sick by it.
I have an old Kennedy that I use -& it looks like a different brand also. Except it has the painted name on the outside & style number on inside. Can’t wait to look it up🙄.
I feel I’m back to the drawing board!

The half circles on the top corners and dimples around the lock are waterloo features. Waterloo made toolboxes for many companies.
I hate being a *******, but here goes-am I safe saying it’s a Waterloo even if it looks like a Bonney? I guess I need to find more info about Waterloo. I just don’t want to misrepresent the box.
I so appreciate you pointing out those features.

Can you post links or pics of the similar/same Bonney boxes you found?

Waterloo was a major toolbox manufacturer for decades and made boxes for many companies as stated by OTG. I wouldn't doubt if they made boxes for Bonney.

Small Kennedy carry box I pocked up, too cool to leave.

Info courtesy of Lugnutz:
It's from WWII. It carried the toolkit for the M5 and M6 versions of the Director, which was a very early Fire Direction Control system for AAA guns. I have a couple. One of them with full nomenclature markings. Due to their smaller size, but extremely well-built ruggedness, they were very popular as postwar carry boxes in civilian life.

Does anyone recognize these handles and have an idea of who used them?

Possibly MAC? Or Cornwell??

Maybe a Pre War Snap-On?

Looks as though MAC & CORNWELL used similar handles (the ones with that style handle were popular)
Maybe Mac or Cornwell. I have a Snap-on box from that period and the handles are cast, not stamped like these. I have a few earlier snap-ons as well and their handles aren't as ornate as these.

AMD/Remline used that style of handle, but Craftsman usually had the oval, and Remline had the little man. Later remlines used lines, but for.some reason I am thinking three lines.

Huot also used that style of handle, but again, not the two deeper lines.

DynaSaur, any overall shots of the box to help with other clues?

It's a pretty generic looking box, overall. Here's a few shots of it.

A little Mac MB75. It was 50 bucks on marketplace and 20 minutes from me so I couldn't pass it up. The bottom 5 full width drawers have rollers slides, date is 9-1970. Gonna clean it up and leave the original paint.

This top box has taller top drawers? Not sure if it's a Bonney?
I found the handles in a post on here from April of 2014 (quoted here). That box was not identified either, and has only single pulls per drawer rather than two.
This says huot or Cornwell or something like that to me… could it be Blackhawk?
I've found Huot, Craftsman, Bonney, Blackhawk, Cornwell, etc., that have the same drawer layout and bottom door. Like I said, it seems to be a pretty generic box, other than the handles.

Couple questions on my roll a bench.

Is it confirmed that the angled logo plates were last used in 1948?

Was the amount of drawers optional?

Is there a date stamp anywhere on this Amazingly? Amazingly I remembered I have the original key.

No date stamp, extra drawers were optional. Yours looks like a 1948 model.
Thank you OTG. I've never seen the old catalogs, what's the trick to getting an exact year (which you always seem to be able to do)?

Are year to year changes really reflected that well in the catalogs?

Thanks

I should say yours appears consistent with a 48 model. The extra drawers show up in 53 catalog, but with rectangular logo. No 51 or 52 catalog, 50 shows slanted logo. Drawers were an option that may have been added later. Catalog art can be incorrect as well, as it was sometimes reused for long periods.

AMD craftsman with no date inside of the badge? Never seen this before. Is this some early variation?
