on a mission to get more organized. snowball affect going with full momentem now. needed another leg to make my last bench for painting supplies and kind of got side tracked to finish my welding bench because I needed the under hung drawer that was on the bench so I could mount the cooler under the bench.cleaned out one more corner and made room for the plasma bench that I need to build yet.

more work on yet another bench

I thought this was going to be my last bench to fab. but I have another one after this one and some day maybe I can finish organizing and have some room to work.the top that I used was a solid core door that we painted rustolem stainless silver then when that was dry brushed black on it then wiped it off right away so the black stayed in the wood grain.put a couple couts of polyurathene on it .even got to give the paint booth a dry run and painted the cabinets a custom mixed charcoal gray.

another corner almost finnished!!

there just not enough hrs in a day been super busy and haven't had much time but still moving foward. this whole corner is designed to hold all my paint supplies and I wanted a well lit corner for mixing paint in. I am going to fab a ex hood to ty into the paint ex duct. i started to use up all my old diamond plate up the only thing bad about that is I like it so much that I want to do more of the trim in the shop this way.

Sorry. You're correct, it's not the best intro...

The tables in the garage are superbly done! Lots of great ideas.

Wow, nice garage, hate what you did to that car, though.

go ahead and elaborate on what you hate and what you like I don't get ofended very easily. there are alot more plans for the car if it is the belair that you are refering to.check out my web site for more details the car is not going to stay that way.:) the car is in mock up form and is going under the knife to make some big changes coming as soon as I can move in the shop again.

The bench shown in your last pic is awesome. I like the sleek look and the open shelves in the middle for flexible storage. Also, using a basic filing cabinet like that is really nice. It is simple, easy and while they often look horribly ghetto in garages, yours doesn't in the least. And the lid on the table really finishes it off perfectly.

As for the car, I like flashy, but I am not a fan of unnecessarily lowered vehicles. It ruins its functionality and makes it look gaudy, IMO. The original-height or aggressive stances are pretty enough without lowering. The red/black paint is nicely done.

I think you need to adjust the color settings on your computer the color the car is would be orange and yellow.and it is not nicely done up close it was hacked thats why I had everyone sign the car with there sugestions for me to finish the car.as for the fuctionality of the car you need to put a car on a well designed air ride system the ride is fantastic and it's just a bonus to have the car on the ground when the air is let out. I have driven the car on last years power tour and autocrossed it and drag raced it and then drove it home.I believe that should serve as functional.stay tuned for more changes to come. ps. thanks for the complments on the bench.:)

Hey E.rodz,

Really like the cabinets you built and the use of diamond plate. That paint job on the door slab you used as a bench top turned out great, too.

Can't wait to see that "chopper" bike finished. Now that is a great project with your number one assistant.

Re: hot rod garage in the works.38x56

Anyone know where to find a tutorial for a DIY install?
I would like to build myself a system like this for my next garage, but this is not a system that are widely known here in Norway.

Is this a closed system, or do it need to be hooked up to the water supply ?

the system is a closed loop system. the whole thing holds about 7 gal.I used a 50/50 mix of glycol/water mix. you can also use a wood boiler or gas .the local building supply centers around here have lots of info on theese type of systems.google search radiant floor system and you will get a ton of ideas. it is just awsome to have.

Great idea on those lights. If you don't mind, I'm going to file that away for a future build. Really like all the stuff you've been doing here.

I was looking at this thread on a computer at work and It would not let me access photobucket so I could not look at the pictures but from the comments I wanted to see the pictures. that is why I subscribed in my post above. now that I have seen the pictures I agree this is a great looking and functioning shop. I like a lot of the projects you have done. especially your welding bench. I am running out of wallspace. so I won't be copying it but I do like it, I may have to do something similar.

Re: hot rod garage in the works.38x56

good luck with that. btw I agree with your sentiment on drywall. I am finishing up the bathroom in my shop now. I hung the last piece of drywall last night but I am strongly considering hiring someone to do the mudding, taping and sanding because I just don't want to do it ha ha. I figure my shop is for my enjoyment It is not where I work it is for fun, and sanding drywall is definitely not fun. lol
